Abstract: A valve assembly having a bolt with a through hole for a security wire includes at least one valve of the valve assembly mechanically coupled to a pipe or to a section of another component of the valve assembly by a coupling or by a pair of mating flanges. At least one hollow bolt is bolted through a closing bolt hole of the coupling or a joining bolt hole of the pair of mating flanges. The at least one hollow bolt accepts a safety wire run completely through the hollow bolt in a longitudinal direction of the hollow bolt and extending completely through the closing bolt hole of the coupling or the joining bolt hole of the pair of mating flanges.

Abstract: A filter cartridge for a whole house water filter includes a cylindrical, or tubular, filter media coupled to a mixer tank with improved high flow mixing features. The mixer tank includes a bowl in which a flow diverter, a flow guide with angled fins and a filter media are provided. The flow diverter has a concave portion, i.e., a mushroom-shaped portion, the interior of which is in fluid connection with a central passage through which filtered water flows. In operation, the filtered water flows through the central passage and is deflected by the concave interior of the flow diverter down through the angled fins of the flow guide. The filtered water then passes out through an outlet. The mixer tank stirs the filter media and water mix to increase the kinetics of the mixing process.

Abstract: An ultra-violet (UV) assembly for treating a fluid with UV light has a housing. A mounting bracket defines a slot and a hollow. A UV source includes: a tab that twist-locks in the slot; a connector that aligns with the hollow; and an RFID tag. An RFID antenna interacts with the RFID tag to emit a RFID tag position signal. A flow switch sends a flow signal. The flow switch includes: a guide; a shaft slidably mounted to the guide; a disc on the shaft; a magnet coupled to the shaft; and a sensor for generating a magnet position signal. During no flow, a spring biases the shaft so that the magnet is positioned to be detected by the sensor. During flow, the flow applies pressure to move the disc and, in turn, the magnet moves to be positioned to not be detected by the sensor.

Abstract: A mixing valve includes a manifold, a temperature-responsive device, a first by-pass mechanism, and a second by-pass mechanism. The manifold defines a cold fluid inlet, a hot fluid inlet, a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the cold fluid inlet and the hot fluid inlet, and a mixing chamber in fluid communication with the cold fluid inlet, the hot fluid inlet, and the fluid outlet. The temperature-responsive device is capable of regulating the relative volumes of flow from the fluid inlets to the mixing chamber. The first by-pass mechanism is responsive to the pressure of cold fluid flow in the manifold to allow cold fluid to flow between the cold fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The second by-pass mechanism is associated with the temperature-responsive device and is responsive to a temperature in the manifold to allow cold fluid to flow between the cold fluid inlet and the fluid outlet.

Abstract: A cross-connection valve provides vertically spaced inlet and outlet valve seats with a balanced relief valve means interposed vertically between the inlet and outlet valve seats and a single abutment for bias means that effects closure of the outlet valve and biases the relief valve means toward a normally open condition.
