    摘要: An apparatus unit includes a detachably mounted unit having a developing sleeve, a toner and a toner applicator, all of which are enclosed by an outer casing. The toner has a shape factor SF-1 of 100-150 and is formed of 100 parts binder, 1-20 parts of a non-magnetic color and 5-40 parts wax and has a specific storage modulus ratio (a) at 60.degree. C. and 80.degree. C. and (b) at 155.degree. C. and 190.degree. C., of at least 80 for (a) and of 0.95-5 for (b). Toner images are visualized by forming an electrostatic image, developing the electrostatic image with the toner, transferring the toner image to a transfer material and fixing the toner image by heat and pressure.

    摘要: A toner and a two-component developer for developing electrostatic images are disclosed. The toner comprises toner particles and the two-component developer comprises the toner and a carrier. The toner particle has a two-layer structure of a core layer and a surface layer, produced by suspension polymerization. The core layer and surface layer are mainly comprised of a resin having a low softening point and a resin having a high softening point, respectively. In the surface layer, a polyester resin having a specific acid value and a specific molecular weight is included to impart an appropriate water absorption to the toner. Due to the appropriate water absorption and superior fluidity, the toner can achieve a speedy rise of charge to give electrostatic charges in a stable quantity over a long period of time, and it can give a high image density and images with superior fine-line reproduction and highlight reproduction.

    摘要: An electrophotographic toner showing a good fixability onto recording paper is constituted by at least a binder resin and a colorant, the binder resin comprising a resin component having a polar group, the binder resin having a molecular weight distribution according to gel permeation chromatography including a peak in a molecular weight region of 5.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.4. The toner is used to develop an electrostatic image formed on a electrophotographic photosensitive member including at least an electroconductive support, a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer, and the resultant toner image is transferred onto a recording medium without difficulties such as occurrence of cracks on the photosensitive member or inferior transferability by using a photosensitive member having a surface layer containing a transition metal atom at 0.1-10 ppm. The surface of the photosensitive member may preferably show a fluorine atom/carbon atom (F/C) ratio or/and a silicon atom/carbon atom (Si/C) ratio, respectively, of 0.03-1.0 as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

The hydrophobized silicon compound fine powder having a broad particle size distribution including coarse particles functions to prevent the embedding of the hydrophobized inorganic fine powder (functioning as a flowability improver) from being embedded at the toner particle surfaces, whereby the toner is allowed to exhibit stable performances even in a continuous image formation on a large number of sheets.

    摘要: An image forming method has developing an electrostatic latent image on an electrostatic latent image bearing member by the use of a toner containing a wax component, to form a toner image on the electrostatic latent image bearing member; transferring the toner image to the surface of a recording medium; and fixing the toner image on the recording medium, to the recording medium. The recording medium has a laminated film having a substrate layer and a wax component absorption layer for absorbing a wax component contained in the toner. The wax component absorption layer is formed of a resin capable of inhibiting crystal growth of the wax component. The wax component absorption layer is capable of absorbing the wax component contained in the toner when the toner image is fixed to the recording medium.

The color toner particles are formed by suspension polymerization. The polyalkylene is characterized by having a crystallinity of 10-50% and a melting enthalpy (as measured by a differential scanning calorimeter) of at most 35 cal/g. The color toner is characterized by an improved fixability without causing offset especially at a relatively low temperature and suitable for providing a transparency film for an overhead projection.
