    摘要: The reel unit has a first side plate made of a magnesium alloy and a first side cover made of an aluminum alloy mounted to a side of the first side plate. The first side plate has an opening and a plurality of plate-like members made of an aluminum alloy mounted to the first side plate around the opening. The first side cover has an opening, and a brake case made of an aluminum alloy turnably mounted in the opening. Aluminum alloy protrusions are formed on an outer peripheral side of the brake case. The first side cover is secured to the first side plat by causing the protrusions formed on the brake case to engage in a bayonet fashion with the plate-like members separately attached to the first side plate.

The casting state detecting device is configured to detect a casting state. The spool control device is configured to control an on/off status of the switch element based on the casting state.

The spool braking device includes a spool braking portion that brakes the spool according to a first predetermined braking characteristic, and a first device identification portion that indicates the first predetermined braking characteristic. The user can confirm the braking characteristic of a spool braking device when the spool braking device is exchanged with another spool braking device having a different braking characteristic.

The pivot support portion is disposed on an outer periphery side of the guide fastening portion. The second cam member engages with the first cam member and moves in a pivot axis direction in response to pivoting of the first cam member. The guiding portion has a cylindrical section and a hexagonal section that non-rotatably and movably guides the second cam member in the pivot axis direction. The guide fastening portion includes a hexagonal recessed section that is disposed on a side of the reel unit and receives the hexagonal section. The guide fastening portion further includes a through hole that receives the cylindrical section.

    摘要: A centrifugal braking mechanism is a device for braking a spool that is rotatably supported in a reel body. The braking mechanism uses centrifugal forces in order to produce braking force against rotation of the spool. The braking mechanism includes a plurality of brake members, a brake housing having a cylindrically shaped brake liner, and an adjusting mechanism. Each of the plurality of brake members is configured to move in a radially outward direction relative to the spool in response to rotation of the spool. The brake housing and brake liner are moveable in an axial direction relative to the spool and brake members such that any selected number of the brake members may contact the brake liner to generate the braking force. The adjusting mechanism is used to selectively move the brake housing and brake liner into any of a plurality of axial positions thereby determining the number of brake members that are contactable with the brake liner in response to centrifugal force. The level of braking force desired is determined by the number of brake members that may contact the brake liner.
