摘要： The present invention relates to a sheet conveying apparatus for conveying a sheet in recirculation. The apparatus comprises a feed tray, a feed mechanism, a recirculation conveying mechanism for conveying the sheet fed by the feed mechanism to return it to the feed tray. The recirculation conveying mechanism includes a discharge tray on which the plurality of sheets are temporally discharged and accumulated and a moving mechanism for moving the sheets accumulated on the discharge tray to the feed tray. The apparatus further comprises a feed sensor detecting whether or not any sheets present on the feed tray. The sheets discharged on the discharge tray are moved to the feed tray by the moving mechanism when all sheets on the feed tray are fed and the feed sensor detects none of the sheet.

摘要： A copying machine having a two-in-one copying mode has a pickup roller 65, a separating roller 75, a register roller 90, a conveyor belt 95 and a pinch roller 101. The pickup roller 65 and the separating roller 75 feed a document toward a glass platen 29 one by one to stop the document at a first-out position. The register roller 90 conveys the document fed by the pickup roller 65 and the separating roller 75 onto the glass platen. The conveyor belt 95 conveys the document conveyed by the register roller 90 along the glass platen 29 until a rear end of the document reaches a predetermined switch-back position, then conveys the document in the opposite direction to retreat a predetermined distance, and then conveys the document as well as a succeeding document stopped at the first-out position such that a front end of the document situated on a downstream side of the document conveying direction may be aligned with an exposure reference SP, and then discharges the documents to the downstream side of the document conveying direction after exposure. The pinch roller 101 conveys the documents discharged by the conveyor belt 95 from the glass platen 29 to a discharge section 115.

摘要： A copying apparatus includes an image forming device, a sheet reversal mechanism, and a sheet holding device having a tray, each of the components being independently separable. The sheet reversal mechanism transports to the tray each sheet either in face-up condition or with its face turned downward. The tray is lowered according to the volume of sheets loaded thereon and is caused to shift on a horizontal plane under a specified timing control. The lowering of the tray is effected through detection by a sensor of the volume of sheets loaded on the tray. After each such lowering, any downward movement of the tray is inhibited until a next sheet is loaded on the tray.

摘要： A copying apparatus having an automatic document feeder (ADF), and a sorter having a plurality of bins. The apparatus comprises an input mechanism for setting the number of sheets to be copied with respect to one original document; a detecting system for detecting a boundary between units of originals; a first control system for controlling the sorter so that the bins are altered one to another every time the boundary is detected by the detecting system when the number of sheets is set to one; a second control system for controlling the sorter so that the bins are altered one to another when the number of copied sheets accommodated in one bin exceeds its capacity of each bin while a copying operation for one unit of originals is being performed. When a sheet, inserted between units of originals, whose size is different from the sizes of original documents is fed by the ADF, the detecting system judges that it is the boundary therebetween. The sorter is controlled so as to automatically accommodate copied sheets of one unit of originals in one bin. Further, every time the boundary is detected, bins are shifted by one step, respectively so that copied sheets are accommodated in one bin for each of units of originals. Thus, units of the copied sheets corresponding to units of originals are separately accommodated in the respective bins.

摘要： An apparatus for storing the sheets discharged from a copying machine or the like vertically for subsequent refeeding of the sheets to the copying machine, comprises side regulating plates for regulating the side ends of the stored sheet, a lower regulating plate for regulating the lower end of the stored sheet, a guide member for guiding each of the sheets transported downward to the lower regulating plate and holding the sheet in a widthwise deflected condition, a paddle wheel for urging each of the sheets downward, a refeeding belt for refeeding the stored sheets, and a separation pad for preventing the sheets from being refed in plurality of a time by contacting the refeeding belt. The side regulating plates are moved back and forth, the lower regulating plate is moved donward and upward, the refeeding belt is rotated backward, and the separation pad is moved away from the refeeding belt in response to the detection signal from a sensor with respect to each of the sheets being refed.
