    Abstract: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) configured for a new radio (NR) system with unlicensed spectrum. The UE includes processor circuitry that performs a first channel load measurement at a first frequency of a serving cell and a second channel load measurement at a second frequency of a neighbor cell and associates a report with the first channel load measurement and the second channel load measurement. At least one of the first frequency and the second frequency is in the unlicensed spectrum. The UE also includes radio front end circuitry that is coupled to the processor circuitry and configured to transmit the report to an access node (AN).

    Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for use in a wireless network for improving configured grant for new radio (NR) unlicensed. For example, some embodiments are directed to an electronic device including radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to receive, using the radio front end circuitry, a message from a base station and, based on the received message, determine whether to use a lowest Channel Access Priority Class (CAPC) or a highest Units (SDUs) that are multiplexed in one or more MAC Protocol Data Units (PDUs) for an uplink (UL)transmission. The processor circuitry transmits, using the radio front end circuitry, the MAC PDU to the base station.

    Abstract: An apparatus of user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to memory, where to configure the UE for communication of data in a New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) spectrum, the processing circuitry is to decode RRC signaling from a base station. The RRC signaling includes configuration information to configure a listen-before-talk (LBT) timer and a scheduling request (SR) prohibit timer. An LBT procedure is performed while the LBT timer is activated. An SR is encoded for transmission to the base station, based on detecting an unoccupied transmission resource within the NR-U spectrum during the LBT procedure. The SR transmission activates the SR prohibit timer. An uplink grant from the base station is decoded in response to the SR, the uplink grant received while the SR prohibit timer is activated. A buffer status report (BSR) is encoded for transmission to the base station based on the uplink grant.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE), or other network component can operate to generate listen-before-talk (LBT) operations in order to manage power consumption by configuring the discontinuous reception (DRX) in a dynamic manner. The UE can configure an extended active time for the DRX based on whether the LBT is successful and an acquisition channel indication from a base station, e.g., a next generation NodeB (gNB). The UE can operate aperiodic wakeup occasions with or independently of periodic DRX on-durations to better manage power while monitoring a channel for unlicensed carrier communications.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of measuring reference signals in a multefire scenario are described. A UE receives control information anchor channel dependent on whether the UE is in an adaptive frequency hopping system (FHS) and whether the FHS is a LBT FHS. The reference signals are received on an unlicensed band via the anchor and/or a non-anchor channel and measured for RRM and/or in-sync or out-of-sync measurements. RRM measurements are transmitted to the eNB for mobility management and otherwise the validity of an in- or out-of-sync indication is determined and a counter started when valid. The control information has a subframe configuration and resource allocation, which is used for SRS transmission on the non-anchor channel. Uplink scheduling information is received on the anchor channel for data transmission on the non-anchor channel based on the SRS.
