摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for adjusting a control channel timer based on control communication traffic on a control channel. In a particular embodiment, a method provides exchanging data packets with a wireless network over a wireless traffic channel assigned to a wireless device. The method further provides monitoring control communications from the wireless network over a wireless control channel and adjusting a control channel timer that indicates a time period that the wireless device should continue to monitor the control communications based on a level of control communication traffic. The method further provides releasing the assigned traffic channel in response to the expiration of a dormancy timer. In response to the release of the traffic channel, the method provides starting the control channel timer. In response to the expiration of the control channel timer, the method provides stopping the monitoring of the control communication traffic.

摘要: Methods, systems, and media for identifying areas of outbound roaming on a wireless network are disclosed. A roaming-network event record listing roaming events of subscribers of a home network is received. A home-network event record listing network events on a home network is also received. The two records are correlated to identify roaming events and network events having matching caller identifiers and time stamps within a predetermined range. Location data of a network event is adopted as location data for a matching roaming event. A home-network wireless-communications antenna, tower, or station having a service area in which a concentration of roaming events have occurred is identified. The distance of the roaming events from the antenna is determined and distance bands corresponding to that distance are plotted on a map to aid in identifying locations at which outbound roaming has occurred.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for override vocoder capacity operating point (COP) allocation. In a particular embodiment, a method provides determining a communication load on a wireless access node. Based on the communication load, the method provides allocating a first COP for a vocoder, wherein the vocoder is used on voice communications exchanged with the wireless access node. The method further provides determining a frame error rate of a wireless communication link between a wireless communication device and the wireless access node. If the frame error rate indicates that a COP of the wireless communication link should be lower than the first COP, the method provides allocating an override COP to the COP of the wireless communication link based on the frame error rate.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing enhanced access class barring in LTE are provided. In embodiments, the method includes receiving, on a mobile device, a SIB2 message. A barring factor associated with the SIB2 message is identified. In embodiments, the barring factor is dynamic based on traffic parameters associated with a network. An upper limit for a random number is set on the mobile device and the random number is generated. The random number is generated and compared to the barring factor. If the random number is less than the barring factor, access to the network is provided to the mobile device. In embodiments, an additional random number is generated for special users or devices if the random number is greater than or equal to the barring factor.

摘要: A wireless communication device comprises a wireless communication transceiver and a processing system. The wireless communication transceiver is configured to detect first and second frequencies transmitted from a wireless access node and to receive first and second threshold values transmitted from the wireless access node. The processing system is configured to determine a distance between the wireless communication device and the wireless access node, compare the distance to the first threshold value, and if the distance falls below the first threshold value, select the first frequency. The processing system is further configured to compare the distance to the second threshold value, and if the distance exceeds the second threshold value, select the second frequency. The wireless communication transceiver is configured to exchange wireless communications with the wireless access node using the selected frequency.
