    摘要: A three dimensional ornament is provided that is configured to be suspended from a tether and rotate to provide the appearance of different shapes as the ornament rotates. The ornament comprises a frame construction with an open interior and a frame member perimeter. An upper apex affixes to a swivel joint and is aligned with the lower apex of the ornament along the ornament centerline. The centerline of the ornament separates the left side from the right side of the ornament, whereby the frame members and corresponding connecting apexes of the frame member periphery are mirror images of one another across the centerline of the ornament. As the ornament spins, it projects a changing image from an onlooker's perspective, which changes throughout the ornament rotation and based on the rotation speed thereof.

    摘要: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for relative positioning of wells. A method in accordance with an exemplary embodiment may include drilling a new well in a field having at least three completed wells using a drilling tool that includes a magnetometer. The method may further include driving current on a first pair of the at least three completed wells and then driving current on a second pair of the at least three completed wells, wherein the current is driven on each of the first and second pairs in a balanced mode. The method may also include measuring a direction of a first magnetic field generated by the current on the first pair using the magnetometer, measuring a direction of a second magnetic field generated by the current on the second pair using the magnetometer, and determining a location of the drilling tool relative to the completed wells based on the direction of the first magnetic field and the direction of the second magnetic field.

    摘要: Digital methods and systems for signal processing and filtering are provided. The methods and corresponding systems provide asynchronous conversion of sampling rate frequencies and utilize advanced multistage phasor filters for converting an input signal having a first sampling rate into an output signal sampled in an arbitrary sequence of sampling times. The conversion process provides a sequence of sets of complex numbers representing a filtered version of the input signal. More specifically, the conversion process includes the calculation of values of the output signal by multiplying (e.g., scaling) the sets of complex numbers by a corresponding set of complex phasors, the complex phasors corresponding to the timing of the arbitrary time sequence to obtain a corresponding set of real results with the value of the output signal being the sum of the real results.

Using measurements of the magnetic field, a relative position of the new well to the existing well may be determined.

    摘要: Background audio can be provided during telephonic communication. Telephonic communication can be established via a network, such as between a user of a telephony device and a communication partner having a second telephony device. A voice signal may be received from the user via a microphone integral with the telephony device. An audio track can be retrieved, for example, from memory integral with the telephony device or from a third-party service provider via the communications network. Noise reduction is performed on the voice signal to produce a clean voice signal. The clean voice signal may be combined with the audio track to produce a combined signal, such that the audio track provides background audio to the clean voice signal. The combined signal can then be transmitted from the telephony device to the second telephony device via the communications network.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for making directional measurements toward a formation of different resistivity that is proximate to the borehole, but which is not penetrated by the borehole. The disclosed methods and apparatus include the use of at least one insulated gap and at least one magnetometer positioned within a non-magnetic housing that is disposed within a non-magnetic tubular. An electric current is applied across the insulated gap, which results in current leaking into the surrounding formations. When a formation of contrasting resistivity is proximate to the logging apparatus, the magnetometer detects a secondary magnetic due to the contrasting formation. The direction of the secondary magnetic field can be used to determine the direction to the contrasting formation. The magnitude of the secondary magnetic field can be used to determine the distance position to the contrasting formation.
