摘要: This disclosure presents a method and process to improve the accuracy of the calculations for true vertical depth and Eastings and Northings pair of a borehole while drilling operations are in progress. The method utilizes continuous survey parameters that are collected while drilling operations are in progress, and that have been collected between two neighboring stationary survey parameters. The stationary survey parameters are assumed to be ground truth and are fused with an invertible solution to a low order polynomial to generate the true vertical depth and an Eastings and Northings pair at each continuous survey location. An objective function can be used to optimize and solve the polynomial. The method can be performed on a well site controller, a geo-steering system, a bottom hole assembly, or other computing system capable of receiving the collected measurements, performing the method steps, and communicating the resultant borehole position parameters to other systems.

摘要: Methods and systems for quantifying and minimizing wellbore breakouts are disclosed. The methods include obtaining a mechanical earth model (MEM), determining a critical collapse pressure (CCP) using an inclination angle and the MEM, and determining an initial mud weight based on the CCP. The methods also include generating a breakout analysis using the initial mud weight, the MEM and a numerical modeling algorithm, updating the inclination angle of the planned wellbore, updating the CCP based on the updated inclination angle and the MEM, and updating the breakout analysis using the initial mud weight, the updated CCP, the MEM, and the numerical modeling algorithm. The methods further include selecting the updated CCP based, on the updated inclination angle that meets the stopping condition, calculating a final mud weight for the planned wellbore based on the updated CCP, and conditioning a drilling mud to the final mud weight, using a mud system.

摘要: A method, device, and system is described herein for pushing a rotary drill bit. Pushing the rotary drill bit can include receiving a target direction in a formation to push the rotary drill bit while drilling a wellbore in a formation. Pushing the rotary drill bit can also include opening, at a first rotational position of a rotary bit pushing device disposed proximate to the rotary drill bit within the wellbore, a first inlet port of a first flow regulator. Pushing the rotary drill bit can further include closing, after the first rotational position of the rotary bit pushing device, the first inlet port. Pushing the rotary drill bit can also include sending, to a second flow regulator of the rotary bit pushing device, a second quantity of drilling fluid.
