摘要:
Broadcast emergency alert messages are selectively processed in accordance with various aspects of the alerted event, the alert message, and/or user preferences. In an example configuration, a mobile device is preconfigured with instructions defining how to process various types of emergency alert messages. A received broadcast emergency alert message is analyzed to determine various characteristics pertaining to the message, such as alert type, alert subtype, likelihood of alert occurrence, alert severity, receipt time, geographic extent of the alert area, originator of the alert message, a time when the alert message was originated. The message is processed in accordance with the preconfigured instructions and the characteristics pertaining to the message. A user of the mobile device can tailor the type of EAS alerts to be received, the time period, or periods, during which EAS alerts can be received, and actions to be taken with respect to received alerts.

Emergency alert area definitions are mapped to associated cell sites. Emergency alert messages are provided to subscribers within the alert area. Areas not having cellular coverage are identified. The identification of areas not having cellular coverage is provided to appropriate personnel, such as an incident commander. Accordingly, alternate mechanisms can be utilized for providing the alert message to the areas not having cellular coverage.

A wireless communication device receives a message. If the message is an emergency alert message, such as an EAS alert message, the wireless communication device issues a notification to an accessory device using a personal area network, which may be established using Bluetooth or another personal area network protocol. The notification is distinct from a notification that is issued to the accessory device when a standard communication, such as a voice call or a non-emergency message, is received by the wireless communication device.

Systems, methods and computer readable media for remotely disabling communication devices. When a communication device is identified for disablement, a disable signal may be transmitted to the emergency communication device. If the emergency communication device receives the disable signal, the emergency communication device may authenticate the source of the disable signal. If the source of the disable signal has been authenticated, the emergency communication device may disable itself. Disablement may include physical destruction or physical alteration of hardware or software necessary for the communication device to operate. Disablement may also include being locked-out from access to or use of hardware or software necessary for the communication device to operate.

A system that facilitates inter-operable communications between first responder (FR) wireless communications devices at an emergency location. The system includes an on-site tactical communications plan that is configured into a communications control device. The communications control device is part of an emergency command vehicle. First responders utilize their associated FR devices to establish a wireless IP data session with the communications control device via a macro wireless network. Once the IP data session is established, the FR device is authenticated by the communications control device. The tactical plan is then transmitted to the FR device via the established wireless IP data sessions. Once the tactical plan is transmitted to the FR devices, each of the FR devices comprises identical radio configurations and channel assignments.

Systems, methods and computer readable media are disclosed for initiating an emergency alert system alert from a mobile device. In addition to the general system, methods and computer readable medium for such initiating of an emergency alert system alert from a mobile device the process may further implement receiving multiple such emergency alert system alert initiation messages and combining them to determine a more accurate location area of the emergency.

An Emergency Alert System (EAS) alert message can be provided based on a configuration established by a subscriber of a mobile device as well as a characteristic of the mobile device. The subscriber can interact with an interface provided by the network provider to establish the configuration. Additionally, the mobile device can provide the characteristic such as the location of the mobile device to the network provider. The network provider can use the configuration established by the subscriber and/or the characteristic of the mobile device to determine which alert message to provide to the mobile device.

SMS alert messages are provided to the current geographic location of a registered SMS subscriber. When an SMS subscriber's mobile device is registered, the subscriber's profile is analyzed to determine if the subscriber wants to receive alert messages via SMS. If so, cell sites associated with the current location of the subscriber are utilized to provide alert messages. As the subscriber register's his/her mobile device in other geographic locations, the current location of the subscriber is updated.

Geo-targeting may be used in combination with wireless alert capabilities to provide alerts to a more granulated geographical area. Disclosed herein is a system and method for performing geo-targeting for various alert areas such that emergency messages may be delivered to mobile and static devices of different types in a localized area. In an example embodiment, geo-targeting supports the delivery area for wireless emergency alerts by identifying the cell sites that are in a specified geographic area that have technology capable of delivering wireless emergency alerts. The components of the telecommunications system that support a wireless emergency alert system may be identified and mapped to any geographical area. The method and system of geo-target mapping may provide an efficient and more robust way of determining the telecommunication components to be employed for broadcasting emergency alerts.

An active call between two parties can be established as a call having priority over other users in a tiered priority system. Changes to the level of priority are permitted if made by an authorized user in attendance on the active call. The change of call priority can be to either raise or lower the priority based on call circumstances. If approved, the new active call priority level is propagated to other nodes and switches so that system knowledge of the new priority level is consistent. The new priority level is reset to the pre-established call priority level after the active call is completed.
