    摘要: A method and apparatus to provide speaker selection in a multi-party conference call is described. The method may comprise processing a speaker queue for at least one new speaker and monitoring when a number of active speakers is less than a predetermined number of active speakers. When less than the predetermined number, the method automatically, without human intervention, adds a new speaker from the speaker queue. A request for a new speaker may be received via a communication channel independent of a voice communication channel of the multi-party conference call. The request may be received from the conference endpoint via a voice communication channel of the multi-party conference call. In an example embodiment, new speakers in the speaker queue may be prioritized based a class of service associated with each new speaker. Priority may be given to a new speaker with a higher associated class of service.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for initiating a voice communication to a best-determined target includes associating a plurality of workers in a worker list with a skills profile for each worker. Upon receiving an assistance request for a task, the worker list can be searched automatically for target contacts having the skill profile best-matching the assistance request. Further search criteria can be compared between the task and the matched target contacts to facilitate the proper selection of the best-matched target contacts. Upon a match, a voice communication is automatically initiating between the requestor to the best-determined target contact.

    摘要: Aspects of the disclosure relate to routing of an emergency communication under fault conditions. Routing can be implemented in a packet-switching (PS) network that provides voice service. For a network node of the PS network, availability to route the emergency communication through a specific emergency service routing number (ESRN) can be determined and, in response to the network node being unavailable, administrative data associated with the ESRN can be accessed. In addition, an identifier associated with the administrative data can be updated (e.g., created or modified) with data indicative of the device that originated the emergency communication. The administrative data and the resulting identifier can be delivered to a second network node that can route the emergency communication to an emergency service network.
