Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising arginine or lysine, zinc citrate and zinc oxide, fluoride source, and a silica abrasive which exhibits an acid pH when measured as an aqueous slurry as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions.
Abstract:
An oral care composition comprising zinc phosphate, stannous fluoride and an organic acid buffer system, as well as methods of using the same.

An oral care composition comprising zinc phosphate, stannous fluoride, arginine or lysine and an organic acid buffer system, as well as methods of using the same.
Abstract:
Oral care compositions containing a stannous salt and sodium tripolyphosphate are provided where stannous tripolyphosphate ionic intermediates comprise less than about 1% of the compositions. Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, a methylvinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer and/or a silica oral polishing agent may be added for further efficacy. In a single phase blend, the oral care composition may be effectively limited to comprise less than about 10% water. In a dual-phase blend, a mixture having the stannous salt in a first phase and the sodium tripolyphosphate in a second phase may be generated from a dual chamber storage tube (with each phase provided from a separate chamber) immediately prior to dental care usage.
Abstract:
An oral care composition comprising: (a) arginine, in free or salt form; and (b) zinc oxide and zinc citrate. The oral care composition can reduce or inhibit biofilm formation in an oral cavity.
Abstract:
Disclosed are oral care compositions comprising an abrasive system, wherein the abrasive system comprises (a) a first particulate abrasive comprising at least 20 wt % pumice, based on the weight of the oral care composition, having an average particle size of from 20 to 300 microns; and (b) a second particulate abrasive comprising calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 2 to 13 microns. There is also disclosed a method of cleaning teeth comprising applying the oral care composition to a tooth surface, the oral care composition being applied as a paste disposed in a prophy cup.
Abstract:
Oral care compositions comprising: (a) a peroxide complex comprising a peroxide component and an N-vinyl heterocyclic polymer (e.g., poly-N-vinyl polylactam, or poly-N-vinyl-polyimide); (b) a whitening agent (e.g., hydrogen peroxide); and (c) an orally acceptable carrier. In one embodiment, the carrier comprises a film forming material. Methods are also provided for making an oral care composition comprising: (a) mixing a whitening agent, silicone adhesive and carrier fluid to form a homogenous mixture; (b) adding a peroxide complex to said homogenous mixture, wherein said complex comprises hydrogen peroxide and an N-vinyl heterocyclic polymer; and (c) mixing under vacuum.
Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising zinc phosphate, a first source of stannous (e.g., stannous fluoride); and a second source of stannous, wherein the second source of stannous comprises stannous pyrophosphate, as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions.
