Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a filter element and an outlet flange. The filter element comprises a filter media pack comprising a plurality of filter media layers stacked on top of each other to form the filter media pack. The filter media pack has an inlet surface being at an inlet portion of the filter media pack, and an outlet surface being at an outlet portion of the filter media pack. An outlet flange is coupled to the outlet portion of the filter media pack.

Abstract: Rotating coalescer elements that maximize the radial-projected separation surface area in a given (rotating) cylindrical volume, where flow to be cleaned is passing axially upward or downward through a separating media of the rotating coalescer element. Various example package assemblies are provided with various types of rotating configurations including cylindrical coiled media packs, frustum coiled media packs, concentric cylinders, coiled metal or polymer films with and without perforations, and/or alternating layers of different materials. The described rotating coalescers may be driven by hydraulic turbine, electric motor, belt, gear or by mounting on rotating machine components, such as rotating engine shafts or connected components.

Abstract: A filtration system comprises a housing and a shell housing removably coupled to the housing. A valve comprise a valve housing and a plunger. The plunger comprises a seal member structured to seal an opening in the valve housing. The plunger is axially movable between a closed position, in which the seal member seals the opening, and an open position, in which the seal member does not seal the opening, thereby permitting fluid to flow through the valve housing. A filter element comprises filter media and an endcap. The endcap comprises an alignment tab configured to rotationally secure the filter element with respect to the shell housing when the shell housing is received in the housing. The endcap comprise a valve interaction projection structured to transfer rotation of the filter element and the shell housing to the plunger during installation of the filter element.

Abstract: Various example embodiments relate to a filtration system and methods for the installation and use of such a filtration system. According to a set of embodiments, the filtration system comprises a housing that defines a central compartment therein. The filtration system further comprises a filter cartridge positioned within the central compartment of the housing. The filter cartridge comprises a filter media and an identification element. The filtration system further comprises a sensor. The sensor is structured to sense the identification element of the filter cartridge. The filtration system further comprises a filter blocking mechanism communicably coupled to the sensor. The filter blocking mechanism is structured to prevent installation of the filter cartridge into the housing unless filter cartridge information of the identification element sensed by the sensor is identified as corresponding to an authorized filter cartridge.

Abstract: A rotating crankcase ventilation filter element comprises a filter media comprising a plurality of filter media layers. A first end cap is positioned on a filter media first end. The first end cap comprises a first end cap main body, and a first plurality of indenting features positioned on the first end cap main body proximate the filter media first end. The first plurality of indenting features contact and indent corresponding segments of the filter media first end, causing the plurality of filter media layers to interlock at the corresponding segments. The interlocking prevents movement of the plurality of filter media layers relative to each other.

Abstract: Filtration systems having filter elements having an axial seal member with a variable cross-section are described. The variable cross-section is matched by the non-planar sealing surfaces of the housing and housing cover that receive the filter elements. The non-planar sealing surfaces of the housing and the housing cover prevent proper filtration system function when an unauthorized replacement filter element having a flat axial seal member is installed in the housing.
