Abstract: A leakage current detection and interruption device includes a switch module for controlling electrical connection of power supply lines between input and output ends; a leakage current detection module, including first and second leakage current detection lines respectively covering the first and second power supply lines, to detect leakage current thereon and to generate respective first and second leakage signals in response thereto; a signal processing module, coupled to the leakage current detection module to receive the first and/or second leakage signals and to generate a leakage fault signal in response thereto; and a trigger module, coupled to the switch module and the signal processing module, to receive the leakage fault signal and in response thereto, to drive the switch module to disconnect the electrical connection to the output end. The device can detect current leaks on the two power supply lines and is simple, low-cost and reliable.

Abstract: A leakage current detection and interruption device for a power cord includes a switch module that controls an electrical connection of first and second power supply lines because input and output ends; a leakage current detection module, including first and second leakage current detection lines, which respectively detect leakage current signals on the first and second power supply lines and generate self-test fault signals in response to the first and second leakage current detection lines having an open circuit; and a drive module including at least one solenoid, a first semiconductor device forming a first current path from the first to the second power supply line when conductive, and a second semiconductor device forming a second current path from the second to the first power supply line when conductive, to supply current to the solenoid which in turn drives the switch module to disconnect the electrical connection.

Abstract: A leakage current detection and protection device includes a leakage current detection module for generating a detection feedback signal when detecting a leakage current on the power supply lines, wherein the power supply lines supply a working power to the leakage current detection module during half of the AC power cycles; a self-test module for testing whether the leakage current detection module is faulty based on the detection feedback signal, which includes: a simulated leakage current generating circuit for generating a simulated leakage current signal; a fault signal generating module for generating a self-test fault signal when the leakage current detection module has a fault; and a self-test compensation module for supplying an auxiliary working power to the leakage current detection module so the leakage current detection module is in a working state whenever the simulated leakage current is generated. This prevents misjudgment by the leakage current detection module.

Abstract: A relay-type leakage current protection device includes a switch circuit, a relay circuit, a leakage current detection circuit, a self-test circuit, and a drive circuit. The switch circuit controls electrical connection between input and output ends of the power supply. The relay circuit is coupled to the input end and controls the open/close state of the switch circuit. The leakage current detection circuit detects a leakage current on the power supply lines. The self-test circuit is coupled to the power supply lines and the leakage current detection circuit, to generate a self-test pulse signal which simulates the leakage current and to detect a fault condition in the leakage current detection circuit. The drive circuit drives the relay circuit in response to receiving a leakage current signal from the leakage current detection circuit or a fault signal from the self-test circuit.
