    摘要: An assembly of fiber optic elements includes at least two subunits, each of which has at least one fiber optic unit and a flat binder wrapped over the subunits into an arrangement. The at least two subunits are stranded in a SZ arrangement at a first lay length and the binder is stranded over the subunits in a uni-directional helical lay at a second lay length. The payoff tension and the first lay length of the subunits, combined with a payoff tension and the second lay length of the binder are simultaneously sufficient to hold the subunits within the arrangement, while being loose enough to allow a single subunit to be removed without destroying the arrangement.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a Wet Electrostatic Precipitator Air (WEPA) Purifier and purification method capable of stand-alone operation as the principal air purification system, particularly in military applications. This system is intended to supply small military units within a temporary structure clean, threat-free fresh air for periods up to 12 months without maintenance. The WEPA Purifier is configured to remove and sterilize biological threat particles from an airflow, and further remove and sequester radioactive particulates, thus allowing them to be safely removed at normal maintenance periods. The WEPA Purifier includes a wet electrostatic precipitator filtration element in which particles are charged and collected by a capturing solution flowing over an attracting electrode collection plate. The water is returned by gravity to a reservoir where it is disinfected and captured particles retained in a small, low maintenance, regenerative liquid filter.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a corona charging device having a powder feed with an outlet. The device has an internal charging cavity having an inlet and a charged powder outlet. The powder feed outlet is positioned at the internal charging cavity inlet. The device is adapted to guide a powder stream downstream from the powder feed outlet to the charged powder outlet. The device also includes a corona charger having one or more needle projections (each having a tip) positioned and adapted to facilitate a corona ion flow from the needle projections and intersecting the powder stream. The device also includes a rotating ground electrode adapted to be charged or grounded to attract the corona flow from the needle projections, and to rotate segments of the ground electrode between the internal charging cavity and a ground electrode cleaner.
