    摘要: The subject matter disclosed herein relates to detecting and/or estimating multipath signals. For an example, a signal comprising at least one binary offset carrier (BOC) modulation signal is received. The BOC modulation signal is modulated with a pseudorandom noise sequence comprising a plurality of chips, wherein each of said chips has a set interval. In another aspect, the received signal is correlated with portions of the plurality of chips to provide a power signal. The portions of chips are less than the set interval. In a further aspect, presence of a multi-path signal in the received signal is detected. The detection of multipath is based, at least in part, on one or more characteristics of the power signal.

    摘要: A position location system, method, and apparatus are disclosed. A wireless device receives a first signal and obtains an identifier indicative of a first location from the first signal. The first signal can be received from a cellular base station and the first identifier can be a mobile country code. The wireless device uses the identifier to determine the availability of signals from a regional satellite system at the first location. If signals from the regional satellite system are available at the first location, the wireless device retrieves information associated with one or more satellite vehicles in the regional satellite system. The information can include pseudo-random number codes and a Doppler search range corresponding to the first location. The wireless device receives a second signal and processes the second signal to obtain first satellite signal information. The wireless device determines its position at least partially based on the first satellite signal information.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for improving position location performance, especially in weak coverage areas, are described herein. A SPS receiver is able to solve for position location in situations where at least two satellite signals can be received but only one time stamp can be successfully demodulated. The receiver can utilize the successfully decoded time reference to determine a time associated with bit edge transitions for signals from that satellite. The receiver utilizes the bit edge transition with the known time to set the time for at least one bit edge transition for signals from other satellites for which the time stamp is not demodulated. The receiver sets the time hypothesis to bit edge transitions occurring within a predetermined window including the bit edge transition with the known time. A position can be determined based on the time hypothesis. The time hypothesis and window placement can be modified following invalid position solutions.

In one aspect the method comprises subtracting a first stronger path from a correlation function to obtain a first residual signal, wherein one component of the first residual signal is a weaker path; applying reconstruction on the first residual signal to obtain a first reconstructed weaker path; subtracting the first reconstructed weaker path from the correlation function to obtain a second residual signal; and applying reconstruction on the second residual signal to obtain a second stronger path. In one aspect, the apparatus includes an antenna for receiving a composite receive RF signal, a receiver front-end for converting the composite receive RF signal into a composite receive digital signal; and a processor for performing signal correlation on the composite receive digital signal to obtain a correlation function and for processing the correlation function to obtain a desired signal. In one aspect, the short multipath is identified by computing a Left Edge Height Ratio Indicator (LEHRI).
