    Abstract: A conformal antenna at a surface of a vehicle and a method of forming the conformal antenna involve a slot formed in a portion of the surface of the vehicle. The method includes disposing the antenna in the slot. An exposed surface of the antenna is level with the surface of the vehicle. The method also includes connecting the antenna to one or more systems of the vehicle such that the antenna transmits or receives signals processed by the one or more systems.

    Abstract: A system and method to control communication in a vehicle include receiving an input. A controller determines whether to transmit a message using a high frequency (HF) communication system based on the input. The frequency range used by the HF communication system is lower than a frequency range used by the cellular communication system. The method includes controlling transmission by the HF communication system based on determining to transmit the message using the HF communication system.

    Abstract: A system and method to perform intelligent communication management in a vehicle include receiving one or more messages for transmission from the vehicle, and receiving inputs additional to the one or more messages for transmission. A communication manager selects one or more radio access technology (RAT) channels from available RAT channels of the vehicle to respectively transmit the one or more messages. The available RAT channels include a cellular RAT channel, WiFi RAT channel, designated short-range communication (DSRC) RAT channel, or WiGig RAT channel.

    Abstract: A system and method to control active and adaptive antenna arrays processes information to determine one or more areas of interest for subsequent transmission. The method includes selecting one or more antennas among a set of available antennas in different locations of a vehicle to perform the subsequent transmission. Each of the one or more antennas includes one or more antenna elements. The method also includes assigning a magnitude and phase for the subsequent transmission by each of the one or more antenna elements of each of the one or more antennas.
