Abstract: This application discloses a reference signal configuration method and apparatus. Before a network device sends reference signals aperiodically, the network device sends configuration information to a terminal device, where the configuration information is used to indicate a timeslot offset of one or more reference signal resource sets. Therefore, the network device can flexibly send reference signals in different timeslots, thereby reducing a quantity of times of reference signal triggering and measurement result reporting, and improving efficiency of a communications system.

Abstract: This application provides a technical solution for rank indication, and especially when a CQI number is not configured or a CQI number is 1, a network device configures a rank indication restriction parameter as that at least one of ranks whose index numbers are 0, 1, 2, and 3 is allowed to be reported by the terminal device; or even if the network device does not perform the foregoing configuration, and none of the ranks whose index numbers are 0, 1, 2, and 3 is allowed to be reported, the terminal device may select at least one rank for RI reporting, so as to resolve a problem that a system cannot work. In addition, according to embodiments of this application, bit overheads required for RI reporting may further be reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a synchronization processing method and apparatus, and a device. The method includes: sending, by a network device, a first synchronization signal and a second synchronization signal to a terminal device within a first time unit, where frequencies of first synchronization signals in all beams are the same, and each beam has a different difference between the frequency of the first synchronization signal and a frequency of the second synchronization signal; and determining, by the terminal device, an optimal transmit beam of the network device for the terminal device and a time sequence of the optimal transmit beam based on the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal. This method effectively reducing synchronization detection complexity of the terminal device.

Abstract: This application discloses a method and an apparatus for transmitting a pilot signal, so that more flexible resource configuration can be achieved, thereby improving resource usage. The method includes: determining, by a transmit end device based on prestored N pilot patterns, a target time-frequency resource for transmitting a pilot signal, where the target time-frequency resource corresponds to a total quantity of layers of a to-be-transmitted data stream, the N pilot patterns are different from each other, and N is a natural number greater than or equal to 1; and sending, by the transmit end device, indication information to a receive end device, where the indication information is used to instruct the receive end device to transmit the pilot signal to the transmit end device based on the target time-frequency resource.
