    Abstract: A transmission mode selection method and a device are provided. The method includes: determining first indication information, where the first indication information is used to indicate a changed transmission mode and/or indicate to change a transmission mode; and sending the first indication information to a terminal device. There may be a plurality of transmission modes for transmitting a data packet duplicated at a PDCP layer, in other words, there may be a plurality of modes for PDCP duplication. A transmission mode can be selected by using the first indication information. For example, when reliability of a mode for PDCP duplication is not high, another transmission mode can be selected by using the first indication information. In this way, a reliability requirement of a service is met as much as possible, thereby improving transmission quality of the service.

    Abstract: This application provides an RRC connection resume method and apparatus. In the method, when a terminal moves to a target base station, the target base station may reselect, based on a capability and a requirement of the target base station, a first encryption algorithm and a first integrity protection algorithm that are used when the target base station communicates with the terminal, and send the first encryption algorithm and the first integrity protection algorithm to the terminal. On one hand, a security algorithm used for communication between the terminal and the target base station is flexibly selected. On the other hand, because the base station connected to the terminal changes, communication security can be improved by using a new encryption algorithm and integrity protection algorithm.

    Abstract: A communication device receives a parallel hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) communication instruction, where the parallel HARQ communication instruction is used to instruct the communication device to send or receive data in a parallel HARQ manner, where the sending data in a parallel HARQ manner by the communication device is sending, by the communication device, at least one data packet with same content within a transmission time interval; and the receiving data in a parallel HARQ manner by the communication device is receiving at least one data packet with same content within a transmission time interval, and performing combined decoding on the received at least one data packet with same content; and the communication device sends or receives the data in the parallel HARQ manner according to the parallel HARQ communication instruction. According to the present invention, a delay of data transmission can be reduced.

    Abstract: A multicast transmission method is disclosed. A base station of a first cell obtains first multicast resource information of at least one second cell, where the base station of the first cell is different from a base station of each second cell; and the base station of the first cell sends second multicast resource information to user equipment, where the second multicast resource information is used to indicate a resource configuration used by each second cell to transmit multicast service data. The base station of the first cell actively sends obtained multicast resource information to the user equipment in a broadcast manner. In this way, the base station of the first cell does not need to configure, in a unicast manner for each user equipment, a resource location for sending/reading the multicast service data of each second cell, thereby reducing signaling overheads.
