In order to cancel an offset caused by a variation of a signal inputted from an optical pickup, variations of elements in an integrated circuit, etc., a calibration circuit which generates and feeds back an offset adjustment amount that makes the offset zero by a comparison with a reference value, and an offset adjustment circuit that makes the offset zero using the fed-back control signal are provided in an analog front-end LSI. The offset adjustment by the calibration circuit is automatically done in response to commands supplied from a digital signal processing LSI, a host control device, etc. On the other hand, as for a signal on which arithmetic processing such as gain control, addition and subtraction, is performed, the offset adjustment is performed by sending the offset adjustment amount obtained by an arithmetic operation performed by software processing of the digital signal processing LSI to the analog front-end.

A capacitance detecting proximity sensor forms a proximity detection range in a spatially open region, avoids the effects resulting from peripheral objects outside the detection target, and enables proximity detection with few malfunctions. The proximity sensor includes: a first detection electrode and a second detection electrode that are disposed to have a predetermined range difference h with respect to a detection direction Y in which a detection subject comes into proximity to the proximity sensor and are independent from a ground potential; and a proximity detection circuit that outputs, as a proximity detection output, the difference between a capacitance to ground Ca formed by the first detection electrode and a capacitance to ground Cb formed by the second detection electrode.

An image processing system and a mask preparation method able to prepare a mask by simple processing and a program executed in such an image processing system are provided. To extract the edges of the image, strings of pixels corresponding to the contours of an object are extracted from the edge extracted image, and border lines for the masking are acquired based on an approximation line thereof.

A coin dispensing apparatus is provided that has features to easily adjust the distance between the base plate and the rotating disk and to adapt to the thickness of the coins. The coin dispensing apparatus includes a disk (102) which separates coins one by one. A coin base (104) supports the coins which are moved by the disk. A body (100) includes the base and a step section (149) which provides different distances to the base to adapt to the thickness of the coins. A rotating shaft member (160) is selectively attached to the step section and can be adjusted to the body. The rotating shaft member for rotating the disk is selectively attached at the step section in stages. Therefore the distance between the disk and the base is adjusted to adapt the thickness of coin.
