摘要: Methods of forming Luneburg lenses and Luneburg lenses formed from same are provided. One method includes providing a spherical core formed of a material with a substantially uniform dielectric constant from a center of the spherical core to an outer surface of the spherical core. The method further includes forming a plurality of holes that are substantially uniform in size and symmetrically located about the center of the spherical core. The method further includes forming an at least one outer layer that is substantially spherical by winding a filament formed of a low-loss material around the spherical core.

摘要: A polarization scrambler using a retardance element (RE) is disclosed. The polarization scrambler may include an optical fiber input to transmit an optical signal, and a beam expander to receive and expand the optical signal to create an expanded optical signal. The polarization scrambler may include a retardance element (RE) to cause a polarization scrambling effect on the expanded optical signal and to create a scrambled expanded optical signal. The polarization scrambler may include a beam reducer to receive and reduce the scrambled expanded optical signal to create a scrambled optical signal. The polarization scrambler may include an optical fiber output to receive scrambled optical signal. The optical fiber output may transmit the scrambled optical signal to one or more downstream optical components.

摘要: Systems, methods and devices are implemented for microscope imaging solutions. One embodiment of the present disclosure is directed toward an epifluorescence microscope. The microscope includes an image capture circuit including an array of optical sensor. An optical arrangement is configured to direct excitation light of less than about 1 mW to a target object in a field of view of that is at least 0.5 mm2 and to direct epi-fluorescence emission caused by the excitation light to the array of optical sensors. The optical arrangement and array of optical sensors are each sufficiently close to the target object to provide at least 2.5 μm resolution for an image of the field of view.

摘要: This application describes Swept, Confocally-Aligned Planar Excitation (SCAPE) microscopy systems that incorporate a gradient index (GRIN) lens to relay images from their distal tip to their proximal tip so that 3D images of deep tissue can be captured, without undue loss of light. A zero working distance feature can be designed into the third objective to ensure that the light that exits the second objective in the SCAPE system is not lost. Alternatively, a tapered fiber bundle may be positioned between the second objective and the third objective in the SCAPE system to ensure that the light that exits the second objective is not lost. As yet another alternative, direct detection at the intermediate image plane without using a third objective can ensure that the light that exits the second objective in the SCAPE system is not lost.

The polyester film for a touchscreen module substrate of a foldable display satisfies the following conditions: (1) a refractive index in a bending direction is from 1.590 to 1.620; (2) a refractive index in a folding portion direction is from 1.670 to 1.700; (3) a refractive index in a thickness direction is 1.520 or less; and (4) a density is 1.380 g/cm or more, wherein the bending direction refers to a direction orthogonal to a folding portion of the polyester film at a time when the polyester film is folded.

摘要: Gradient refractive index lenses (GRI-Ls) and methods of fabricating the same are provided. GRI-Ls can be fabricated by stereolithography (SLA) and/or photo-assisted, thermal-assisted, and/or other laser-based curing from at least two precursors with a preset refractive index gradation along the planar axis. These lenses are self-focusing lenses and may be convergent or divergent for decreasing and increasing refractive indices from the center, respectively. Rather than a gradation in lens thickness from the center, the GRI-Ls can have a gradation of composition from the center.
