    Abstract: This application provides a signal transmission method and apparatus, to help a terminal device determine a receive beam for a positioning reference signal. This can reduce overheads of performing receive beam sweeping by the terminal device, and save resources. The method includes: A terminal device receives a first positioning reference signal PRS resource set and a second PRS resource set that are sent by a network device, and learns that N first PRS resources in the first PRS resource set and N second PRS resources in the second PRS resource set satisfy a quasi-colocation QCL relationship.

    Abstract: This application provides example signal transmission methods and example apparatuses. One example method includes receiving random access channel (RACH) configuration information of a neighboring cell from a location management device or a serving cell, where the RACH configuration information includes information about an RACH resource and a preamble. The preamble can then be sent to the neighboring cell by using the RACH resource. An uplink TA of the neighboring cell that is determined by the neighboring cell based on the preamble can then be received.

    Abstract: This application discloses a random access method and a communication apparatus, to resolve a problem in an existing technology that UEs interfere with each other in a random access procedure. In this application, a network device separately configures a random access resource used for random access performed when a TA is invalid and a random access resource used for random access performed when the TA is valid, so that UE with the invalid TA and UE with the valid TA use different random access resources to perform random access, thereby reducing mutual interference between the UEs and improving data transmission efficiency. In addition, in this application, the network device separately configures random access resources used by UEs with different TA accuracy levels to perform random access, so that the UEs with different TA accuracy levels use different random access resources to perform random access.

The method may include detecting, by a network device, a first signal in an uplink signal. The method may also include determining, by the network device, a signal structure of the uplink signal based on a result of detecting the first signal.
