Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for cross retransmission between Grant-less Uplink transmission (GUL) and Scheduled Uplink transmission (SUL). An embodiment provides an apparatus for a user equipment (UE) comprising baseband circuitry including one or more processors to: encode an uplink (UL) transmission data for transmission to an evolved Node B (eNB) on an un-licensed spectrum; determine a mode of re-transmission for the UL transmission as a scheduled mode in which the re-transmission is based on a re-transmission grant derived from downlink control information (DCI) received from the eNB or a grant-less mode in which the re-transmission is performed without the re-transmission grant from the eNB; and encode the re-transmission of the UL transmission based on the determined mode. Also provided is hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for GUL and SUL. At least some embodiments allow for maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) sharing.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an Evolved Node-B (eNB) operable to communicate with a User Equipment (UE) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process one or more configuring transmissions from the eNB carrying one or more parameters for Common Search Space (CSS) for Wideband Coverage Enhancement (WCE) mode. The second circuitry may be operable to establish a CSS encompassing one or more enhanced Physical Downlink Control Channel (ePDCCH) candidate transmissions based upon the one or more parameters for CSS for WCE mode. The third circuitry may be operable to monitor the one or more ePDCCH candidate transmissions for Downlink Control Information (DCI) in accordance with the one or more parameters for CSS for WCE mode.

Abstract: Technology for a next generation node B (gNB) operable for frequency hopping in MulteFire communications is disclosed. The gNB can perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) for a selected hopping frequency. The gNB can identify a next hopping frequency in a set of hopping frequencies when an energy detection of the CCA is greater than a selected threshold. The gNB can encode data for a downlink transmission at a selected dwell time of a determined hopping frequency in the set of hopping frequencies when an energy detection of the CCA is less than a selected threshold.
