    摘要: A method is disclosed for operating a wireless telecommunication system for providing a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service MBMS broadcast transmission from a network operator (10) to a mobile station (100). A first step determines a minimum bit rate requirement to broadcast a MBMS message and a number of radio blocks per time period that are required to satisfy the bit rate requirement. A second step allocates the determined number of radio blocks in accordance with a multislot transmission technique, wherein a plurality of time slots are used per frame, such that the mobile station is provided with at least one idle radio block between two active MBMS transmission periods. The at least one idle radio block may occur between two active MBMS radio blocks. A third step transmits the determined radio block allocation to the mobile station. In the preferred embodiment the step of determining may include a consideration of radio channel conditions and a multislot class of the mobile station. In one embodiment the step of allocating attempts to maximize the number of idle radio blocks and the mobile station, during the idle radio block, performs at least one of entering a reduced power consumption mode of operation, or entering a neighbor channel measurement mode of operation. In another embodiment the step of allocating allocates radio blocks so as to complete the data transmission within the shortest period of time.

An PDCH de-allocation RLC/MAC control message is broadcast to listening mobile stations from a base station subsystem (BSS) and contains a temporary flow identity (TFI) which is recognised by the listening mobile stations (MS). The mobile stations respond by terminating packet switched data transmissions on the identified PDCHs. The RLC/MAC message also identifies the number of PDCH time slots which can be used before de-allocation must occur.

    摘要: The invention relates to retrieving a conversation or part of the conversation from a database to a terminal. The database contains one or more groups of messages having a first identifier. Each group of messages comprises messages of a conversation. Each message in the group may also have a second identifier. To retrieve the message a group of messages is selected from the database. Then, a message from the selected group of messages is selected and a request is formed. The request is included with the first identifier indicating the selected group of messages. It is also possible that the second identifier indicating the selected message in the selected group of messages is also included in the request. The request is transmitted to a network element controlling the database. The selected message is searched from the database on the basis of the first and the second identifier. If the selected message is found, it is transmitted from the database to the terminal.
