    Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for providing a visitor controlled access into a building. Initially, entrance identification information is provided to a mobile device of the visitor when the mobile device is in close proximity of an entrance of the building. The mobile device then sends the entrance identification information to a remote server. In response the server sends hack a list of residents of the building to the mobile device based on the entrance identification information, and the mobile device presents the list of residents to the visitor. The visitor then selects a resident from the list, and subsequently a link is established between the mobile device and a remote device associated with the selected resident. Finally, access grant information is provided to an access control means adapted to control access of the visitor into the building via the entrance.

    Abstract: An access control system detects movement at a door to which a user has been granted access. A travel time is determined that describes how long the user is expected to need to travel between that door and another door in the area. After the travel time has elapsed, the other door is unlocked. Thus, the user can travel to and open the other door without having to present a credential for the other door.

    Abstract: In an access control system, a registration procedure for a visitor is implemented to control access to an access-restricted zone in a building or a site. At the invitation of a host, the visitor sends a digital image, an invitation identification number and a device-specific identifier of the electronic device of the visitor to the access control system. The image data and the identifier are assigned to a visitor profile previously created for the visitor by means of the identification number of the invitation. The image data are processed by the access control system to generate a reference template, the reference template being stored in the visitor profile.
