Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate having a first transparent substrate and a pixel electrode, a second substrate having a second transparent substrate, a first common electrode, a second common electrode, and an insulating film disposed between the first common electrode and the second common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. Abstract: A display device includes a display unit having a display surface on which pixels are arranged in row and column directions. Each pixel includes subpixels having different colors. Subpixels in the pixels include a first subpixel including an electrode having an opening with a longitudinal direction along a first direction and a second subpixel including an electrode having an opening with a longitudinal direction along a second direction. The first and second directions are different from the row and column directions. Subpixels arranged in a third direction are the first or second subpixels. The number of subpixels constituting one color pattern in a fourth direction is 2α. The number of subpixels in which the first and second subpixels arranged in the fourth direction constitute one cycle is 4α. The third direction is one of the row and column directions, and the fourth direction is the other direction.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes a display unit in which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix along two directions intersecting with each other. Each of the pixels includes three sub-pixels corresponding to three of four colors including a first color, a second color, a third color, and a fourth color.
