Abstract:
The invention pertains to methods and vaccines suitable for preventing or reducing malaria transmission. The vaccines block the interaction between α-tubulin from a malarial parasite and FREP-1 from the mid-gut of a malaria carrier mosquito, for example, Anopheles gambiae.
Abstract:
The present disclosure includes the methods, processes, and systems of a novel community watch with bot-based unified social network groups. The new community watch comprises chatbots, artificial intelligence (AI) engine, social network messaging platforms used by community watch groups with security services based on identity recognition technology and physical threat intelligent information technology. This process turns meaningless text, sensor data, images and videos into context-based physical security information to be analyzed by the/a physical security information and event management system. The analyzed messaging platforms and varieties of activity options. The various said groups in the heterogeneous social networking and messaging platforms are combined and fused into the unified social network groups through the bots. The present disclosure nicely adapts and integrates new technologies and modern society. The bots and unified social network groups allow users to easily and intuitively use and interact with the community watch system, so the improved process and system can be more widely established, used, and made more effective in adding community security and protecting people.

Abstract:
In a system and method for processing images, a double-sided image format is set, and a new file with the double-sided image format is established. Specific content identifying the double-sided image format is written into a name domain of the new file, and data of a first image file is written as front image data into a data domain of the new file. The system further writes data of a second image file as back image data into the data domain after the front image data. Memory position of the front image data in the new file may be written into a front description domain of the new file according to a first byte number of the front image data. Memory position of the back image data may be written into a back description domain according to a second byte number of the back image data.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a plurality of objects. The plurality of objects include short message service (SMS) messages, pictures, music, and videos. The electronic device allows user-selected associations between one or more events and a particular user-selected operation behavior of an object. When the selected operation behavior of the object is triggered, the electronic device starts the associated one or more events automatically.
Abstract:
A method for adjusting an image displayed on a screen of an electronic device uses an accelerometer of the electronic device to measure a rotation angle and a rotation direction of the electronic device when the electronic device is rotated. The electronic device acquires the rotation angle and the rotation direction from the accelerometer and reversely rotates the image relative to the rotation direction by the rotation angle.
Abstract:
A method for reading Short Message Service (SMS) messages using a mobile device, a user can read the SMS messages saved in a mailbox of the mobile device by acquiring a contact entry. The user selects the contact entry in a contact list saved in a memory of the mobile device. Then, the mobile device reads a phone number of the contact entry. Continually, the mobile device acquires the SMS messages from the memory, and reads identifier numbers and the phone numbers of the SMS messages. After comparing procedure, if a phone number of one of SMS messages is the same as the phone number of the contact entry, the mobile device saves an identifier number corresponding to the one of SMS messages to the memory. The mobile device loads the SMS messages corresponding to the identifier numbers saved in the memory into the mailbox.
Abstract:
An electronic device and method for inputting characters in an electronic device partitions the touch panel of the electronic device into a display area and one or more input areas, and sets a corresponding input method for each input area. The system and method further receives input inputted by a user on an input area, and controls other input areas to be inactive when the input area is active. Furthermore, the system and method displays the input on the display area.
Abstract:
A heat sink includes a plurality of metal fins interconnected together. Each metal fin includes a main plate, a flange extending forwardly from the main plate and an interlocking unit formed on the flange. The interlocking unit includes an engaging ear and a hook. The ear extends rearwards from a rear edge of the flange and defines a locking hole therein. The flange defines a cutout adjacent to a front edge thereof. The cutout is aligned with the ear and recessed rearwards from the front edge of the flange. The hook extends forwardly from the flange and is located within the cutout. The ear of a fin is engaged in the cutout of an adjacent rear fin. The hook of the adjacent rear fin is engaged in the locking hole of the engaging ear of the fin.
Abstract:
A mounting device (10) for mounting a heat sink (40) onto a printed circuit board (60) with a heat generating electronic component (50) mounted thereon. The mounting device includes a mounting frame (101) and two resilient clips (102) attached to the mounting frame. The mounting frame includes two first mounting arms (1011) and two second mounting arms (1012) disposed above the first mounting arms. The first mounting arms are configured for being attached to the printed circuit board. The resilient clips are configured for being sandwiched between the second mounting arms of the mounting frame and the heat sink. The resilient clips each include two resilient arms (1023) configured for providing a resilient force which urges the heat sink toward the heat generating electronic component.
