    摘要: A printing system is provided that includes one or more printing modules, the one or more printing modules including a media web transport input; a media web image transfer point; a media web transport output; a primary image transfer system; a secondary image transfer system; and an intermediate image transfer point coupling the primary image transfer system and a secondary image transfer system. The secondary image transfer system is adapted to accept an image from the primary image transfer system at the intermediate image transfer point, and the secondary image transfer system is adapted to transfer the image from the secondary image transfer system to a media web at the media transfer point. The media web transport input and media web transport output provide a media web path to route the media web from the media web transport input to the media web transfer-point, and from the media web transfer point to the media web transport output.

    摘要: A method is provided for aligning images on media produced by one or more print engines in an integrated print system. The method includes printing a first pattern of first symbols on a first region of a print medium with a first print engine and printing a second pattern of second symbols on a second region of the print medium with at least a second print engine in a manner to superpose the second pattern on the first pattern. The method further includes measuring a first deviation of the second pattern of second symbols relative to the first pattern of first symbols, recording the first deviation as a first offset distance relative to the first print engine, reporting the first offset distance to a controller of the second print engine, and, using the first offset distance for aligning at least the second print engine relative to the first print engine.

    摘要: A method of marking bullets and bullets marked by the method are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises coating the bullet of a cartridge with at least one coating material whose surface appearance contrasts with the surface appearance of the underlying bullet material. Characters are then selectively etched in, and generally substantially through, the coating, such as molybdenum disulfide. The characters are easily and quickly recognized because of the contrast between the surface appearances of the coating and that of the underlying material. The characters typically, but not necessarily, indicate characteristics of the bullet, such as bullet weight and design features.

    摘要: To print an image having a 600 dpi resolution along the horizontal axis with an ink jet printer that has a 300 dpi resolution, the method raster scans selected pixels from a selected pixel pattern. The image receiving member is then advanced a selected distance. Remaining pixels from the selected pixel image pattern are then raster scanned onto the image receiving member to visibly reproduce the image at a defined resolution.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a hollow point bullet and the product resulting therefrom. A core is first formed from a deformable first metal and the entire core is electroplated with a second metal. A partially electroplated cavity is then formed within one end of the core with slits through the second metal along the cavity walls. The core is formed into its final shape in such a manner that the walls of the cavity are inclined at a desired angle relative to the axis core and the slits are extended to the circumferential edge of the cavity.
