    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes one or plural forming devices that form respective images on a recording medium that is being transported, a fixing device provided on a downstream side with respect to at least one of the forming devices in a direction of transport of the recording medium and that fixes the images formed on the recording medium, a delivering device that receives the recording medium transported in a first direction and discharges the recording medium in a second direction that is different from the first direction, and a supplying device that supplies the recording medium to any of the forming devices or to the delivering device. The forming devices, the fixing device, the delivering device, and the supplying device have respective housings and are each joinable to any of the other devices.

    摘要: A digital printing system is disclosed having two independently operable printing towers arranged in series such that a substrate sheet passes sequentially through both printing towers, and in which a perfecting mechanism is provided between the two towers to reverse each substrate sheet during transfer from the first printing tower to the second printing tower, the perfecting mechanism being selectively operable to enable the second tower to print either on the same side of each substrate sheet as the first tower or on the opposite side of each substrate sheet. As well as allowing a duplex mode, the system provides a higher speed simplex mode during which different separations of the same image are printed by the two towers.

    摘要: A method for performing color-to-color correction for printing multiple copies of a print job having one or more documents is disclosed. A first copy of the print job is printed using a plurality of color planes. A first plurality of color registration errors produced during the printing of the first copy of the print job is determined. For each document in the print job, a processor is used to determine a first plurality of local color plane correction values for each color registration error produced during the printing of the first copy of the print job. Each of the first plurality of local color plane correction values corresponds to one of the first plurality of color registration errors. A second copy of the print job is printed using the local color plane correction values for each document in the print job.

The management unit manages first image formation processing on a first face of a planar recording medium. The first image formation processing is performed by a first image formation apparatus. The communication unit communicates with a second image forming apparatus configured to perform image formation on a second face of the planar recording medium. The control unit performs control of transportation of the planar recording medium from the first image formation apparatus to the second image formation apparatus or from the second image formation apparatus. A first amount of time to start image formation from receiving an image formation instruction in the first image formation apparatus is smaller that a second amount of time to start image formation from receiving an image formation instruction in the second image formation apparatus.
