The method includes: creating a basic orthogonal sequence having a length identical to a number of the sub-carriers forming the sub-channel; creating a plurality of sequences having a same length as the basic orthogonal sequence by cyclic-shifting the basic orthogonal sequence a predetermined number of times or performing a modulo operation based on a number of the sub-carriers forming the sub-channel, after adding a predetermined offset to the cyclic-shifted basic orthogonal sequence; selecting a predetermined number of sequences corresponding to a number of the BSs from among the plurality of sequences; and allocating the selected sequences as the sub-channel signal interleaving patterns for the BSs.

A wireless communication system that divides an entire frequency band into a plurality of subcarrier bands and includes a plurality of subchannels, each of which includes a number of subcarrier bands. The number of subcarrier groups is equal to the number of the base stations included in the system and are generated by classifying the subcarrier bands in a period. For a particular base station, corresponding subcarrier bands are detected from each of the groups according to a sequence. The subcarrier bands detected from each of the groups are assigned as a subchannel for the particular base station. Further, the indexes of the subcarrier groups to which each of subcarriers constituting a subchannel belongs are changed whenever the subchannel is assigned, so as to acquire the desired diversity gain.

The method comprises the steps of determining a target Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) of sub-carrier signals employing a first frequency reuse factor selected from the multiple frequency reuse factors; determining a weight of the sub-carrier signals employing the first frequency reuse factor and a weight of other sub-carrier signals employing frequency reuse factors other than the first frequency reuse factor corresponding to the target SINR; and applying the determined weights to the sub-carrier signals employing the first frequency reuse factor and the sub-carrier signals employing frequency reuse factors other than the first frequency reuse factor, thereby controlling the transmission power.

An MS with a high priority level is selected according to the calculated scheduling metric. The number of subchannels and a product of a modulation order and coding rate (MPR) are extracted according to input variables for the selected MS. The number of subchannels to be allocated to the selected MS is determined according to the MPR and the subchannels are allocated to the selected MS. The scheduling metric is updated for the each MS.

In an SS apparatus in a broadband wireless communication system, a preamble subcarrier acquirer extracts subcarrier values having a preamble code from an FFT signal. A multiplier code-demodulates the subcarrier values by multiplying the subcarrier values by a preamble code. A correlator calculates a plurality of differential correlations in the code-demodulated signal. An IFFT processor IFFT-processes the differential correlations by mapping the differential correlations to subcarriers. A maximum value detector detects a maximum value from the IFFT signal and calculates a timing offset using an IFFT output index having the maximum value.

The first signal is transmitted between the base station and the mobile station, and the second signal is transmitted between the base station and the optic repeater The method includes transmitting the first signal after delaying the first signal by a predetermined fixed delay time when it is necessary to transmit the first signal; and synchronizing the second signal with the first signal by delaying the second signal by an adaptive delay time determined according to a predetermined scheme.
