    Abstract: A liquid crystal includes first and second substrates, the first substrate including intersecting data lines and scan lines. A liquid crystal layer is sandwiched therebetween. Also, a plurality of sub-pixels districted by data lines and gate lines, and arranged along the long-axis and the short-axis directions in a matrix. A pixel electrode in the sub-pixels includes a central portion. A common electrode including linear electrodes arranged along the data lines and disposed with gaps therebetween. Sub-pixels are bent at the center portion, such that the linear electrodes or the gaps in both sides of the sub-pixels are inclined in opposite directions with respect to the long-axis direction. At least one of the linear electrodes or at least one of the gaps has a bent portion at the central portion of the respective pixel electrode. The common electrode is provided on liquid crystal layer side over the pixel electrode.

    Abstract: A display device with a touch sensor having a display function and a touch sensor function is provided. The display device includes a first substrate including a pixel electrode; a first electrode along a first direction; and a second substrate including a second electrode that includes patterns of electrodes along a second direction crossing the first direction and that faces the first electrode and the pixel electrode, wherein upon the display function being activated, the pixel electrode is supplied with a pixel signal, and the second electrode is supplied with common voltage, and upon the touch sensor function being activated, the first electrode is applied with a first signal and the second electrode is configured to receive the first signal to be a second signal as a touch detecting signal.

    Abstract: To provide a display device with a touch detection function capable of suppressing an increase of price.The display device includes a pixel array that has a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix form, a plurality of scan lines that are disposed in each row of the pixel array and supply a scan signal to the plurality of pixels disposed in each corresponding row, a plurality of signal lines that are disposed in each column of the pixel array and supply an image signal to the plurality of pixels disposed in each corresponding column, and a plurality of drive electrodes that are disposed in the pixel array and supply a drive signal to the plurality of pixels at a time of displaying an image. A coil that generates a magnetic field is formed using the plurality of drive electrodes at a time of detecting an external proximity object.

    Abstract: A display apparatus capable of reducing the lowering of detection sensitivity is provided. A display apparatus provided with a pixel array having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form includes: detection electrodes which are in parallel with each other, which are arranged so as to extend in a first direction, and which are connected so as to forma magnetic-field detection coil; and a detection electrode having one end which is arranged inside the magnetic-field detection coil and which is connected to the magnetic-field detection coil, and the other end which is electrically insulated from the magnetic-field detection coil. At the time of each of the magnetic field detection and the electric field detection, an external object is detected based on a change in a signal in the detection electrodes.
