Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal sandwiched between the substrates, and a display region. A hole portion is formed in the display region. A first seal portion is formed to surround the display region. A second seal portion is formed to surround the hole portion. The first and the second seal portions seal the liquid crystal. The second seal portion has a first end portion on the liquid crystal side and a second end portion on the opposite side of the liquid crystal side. A sealing material is present in the first end portion. A sealing material is present in the second end portion. A wall-like spacer is formed between the first and the second end portions to surround the hole portion. The wall-like spacer defines the gap between the first and the second substrates.

Abstract: A display portion of a display device includes a gate wiring formed of a first metal layer, a signal line formed of a second metal layer, a metal wiring formed of a third metal layer. A terminal portion of the display device includes a first metal portion formed of the second metal layer, and a second metal portion that is laminated on the first metal portion and formed of the third metal layer. The second metal portion covers an upper surface and a side surface of the first metal portion, and a peripheral portion of the second metal portion is covered by an organic insulating film, and the inside of the peripheral portion of the second metal portion is exposed via a first through hole formed in the organic insulating film.

Abstract: To improve the reliability of a display device, a liquid crystal display device includes a substrate having a back surface, a substrate having a front surface opposing the back surface, a display functional layer arranged between the substrate and the substrate, and a sealing section SL that adhesively fixes the substrates around the display functional layer in a plan view. The sealing section SL includes a member PS extending along an outer edge of the display functional layer and sealing materials adjacently arranged on both sides of the member PS and continuously surrounding the periphery of the display functional layer in a plan view. The member PS includes a plurality of portions PS1 having a height TK1 and a plurality of portions PS2 arranged among the plurality of portions PS1 and having a height TK2 smaller than the height TK1.
