Abstract: According to one embodiment, an optical sensor device includes an insulating substrate, a first conductive layer and an optical sensor element disposed between the insulating substrate and the first conductive layer. The optical sensor element is electrically connected to the first conductive layer and covered by the first conductive layer. The optical sensor element includes a first semiconductor layer formed of an oxide semiconductor and controls an amount of charge flowing to the first conductive layer according to an amount of incident light to the first semiconductor layer.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a driving method of a display device including a display area in which liquid crystal pixels are arranged in a matrix, a plurality of scanning lines arranged along display rows, a plurality of signal lines arranged along display columns, a backlight which illuminates the display area, and a controller which controls a display operation, the driving method includes via the controller, driving the scanning lines alternately from a center of the display area to both edges of the display area, outputting video data corresponding to a driven scanning line to the signal lines in synchronization with the driving of the scanning line, and turning on the backlight for a predetermined time after outputting the video data of one frame.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a pixel, a scanning line, a signal line, a pixel electrode, a first switching element, and a capacitance line producing capacitance together with the pixel electrode. The first switching element includes a first semiconductor layer connected to the signal line and the pixel electrode, and a first gate electrode opposed to the first semiconductor layer and connected to the scanning line. The capacitance line includes a first portion opposed to the scanning line and extending in an extension direction of the scanning line, a second portion connected to the first portion and opposed to the pixel electrode.
