Abstract: A display device includes first electrodes, second electrodes, lines, and a controller, and includes a substrate, pixel electrodes, a display functional layer, and a common electrode stacked in this order. An insulating layer is between the common electrode and the first and second electrodes. The controller controls the pixel electrodes, the common electrode, the lines, and the first and second electrodes. During a display period, the pixel electrodes are supplied with a pixel signal through the lines, and the common electrode is supplied with a common signal. During a first sensing period, the lines are supplied with a first drive signal to generate a magnetic field. During a second sensing period, the lines are supplied with the first drive signal to generate the magnetic field, and an electromotive force corresponding to a distance between the lines and the first electrodes is generated in the first electrodes by the magnetic field.

Abstract: A light shielding layer overlapping with a peripheral region of a display device includes extension portions each extending along a Y direction, bent portions located between the extension portions, and another extension portion located between the bent portions. In a region overlapping with the another extension portion, an enable line (first potential supply line), which supplies a potential to a plurality of scanning signal lines via a driving circuit (first driving circuit), goes through a wiring layer (first wiring layer) and another wiring layer (second wiring layer) made of a material having resistivity lower than that of the wiring layer.

Abstract: A display device provided with a touch sensor, includes a plurality of common electrodes, a plurality of display elements arranged in a matrix, a plurality of gate lines electrically connected to the display elements and arranged in a row direction, and a plurality of source lines electrically connected to the display elements and arranged in a column direction. The plurality of common electrodes for display are also used for the touch sensor. An image display operation of the plurality of common electrodes for display and a driving operation of the plurality of common electrodes for the touch sensor are performed in a time sharing manner, and all of the gate lines and the source lines are caused to be in a floating state in the driving operation of the common electrodes for the touch sensor.

Abstract: A performance of a display device having an input device is improved. A display device includes: an electro-optical layer; a first driving electrode and a second driving electrode which drives the electro-optical layer; a driver chip which outputs a video signal; a switch circuit which is arranged outside the driver chip, which selects a potential to be supplied to the second driving electrode, and which includes a first switch element and a second switch element; a shift register circuit connected to the switch circuit; and a detection circuit which detects that an object is close or in contact. Each of the first switch element and the second switch element is selectively turned ON or OFF by the shift register circuit. The detection circuit is electrically connected to the first switch element and the second switch element.

Abstract: A display apparatus which can reduce a parasitic capacitance during driving of driving electrodes based on a self-capacitance detecting method is provided. The display apparatus includes: a plurality of connection wires which are formed in a peripheral area and are connected to a plurality of corresponding video signal lines; a video signal line selection circuit which is connected with a plurality of connection wires, selects at least one connection wire and supplies a signal to the video signal lines; self-capacitance detection wires which extend in a direction intersecting an extension direction of the connection wires and intersects the connection wires; common wires which electrically connect the self-capacitance detection wires and drive electrodes; and transistors which are provided between the self-capacitance detection wires and the common wires. Further, the self-capacitance detection wires extend between a display area and the video signal line selection circuit in a plan view.

Abstract: A load related to a scanning line is decreased and a load related to a common electrode is decreased without decrease in an aperture ratio of each pixel. A display apparatus has a red sub-pixel and a green sub-pixel. A distance in the Y-axis direction between a pedestal electrode and a scanning line that drives a transistor in a plan view in the red sub-pixel is longer than a distance in the Y-axis direction between a pedestal electrode and a scanning line that drives a transistor in a plan view in the green sub-pixel. Furthermore, a superposed width of a light shielding film with a red pixel region in the Y-axis direction is larger than a superposed width of the light shielding film with a green pixel region in the Y-axis direction.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device with a touch detection function includes: a display region; a plurality of drive electrodes; a control device; a touch detection electrode that is opposed to the drive electrodes and forms capacitance with respect to the drive electrodes; power supply wiring arranged in a frame region positioned outside the display region; and a plurality of drive electrode scanning units that select the drive electrode to be coupled to the power supply wiring. when the drive electrode scanning unit simultaneously selects the drive electrodes of which number is equal to or larger than the number of pieces of the power supply wiring, the control device supplies a touch driving signal that is multiplexed based on a certain code to each of the selected drive electrodes.
