    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes: a plurality of scan lines and signal lines on one of a pair of substrates arranged to be opposed to each other with a liquid crystal layer sandwiched therebetween, the scan lines and signal lines extending in different directions; and an orientation film, pixel electrode, insulating layer and common electrode, the orientation film being rubbed in a rubbing direction having a given inclination with respect to a pixel arrangement direction. The pixel electrode is partitioned by the scan lines and signal lines and has subpixels made up of first and second regions. The first region has a plurality of slit-shaped openings having a given inclination in a first direction with respect to the rubbing direction. The second region has a plurality of slit-shaped openings having a given inclination in a second direction with respect to the rubbing direction.

    摘要: To provide a display capable of achieving downsizing and a touch detection method. The display includes a pixel array including a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix form, a plurality of scanning lines disposed in each row of the pixel array and supplying scanning signals to the plurality of pixels disposed in corresponding rows, a plurality of signal lines disposed in each column of the pixel array and supplying image signals to the plurality of pixels disposed in corresponding columns, a plurality of common electrodes disposed in each of the columns of the pixel array and supplied with driving signals for detecting touch, and a semiconductor device for touch including a plurality of driving terminals for supplying the driving signals. Here, the plurality of driving terminals of the semiconductor device for touch are smaller in number than the plurality of common electrodes disposed in the pixel array.

    摘要: A performance of a display device having an input device is improved. A display device includes: an electro-optical layer; a first driving electrode and a second driving electrode which drives the electro-optical layer; a driver chip which outputs a video signal; a switch circuit which is arranged outside the driver chip, which selects a potential to be supplied to the second driving electrode, and which includes a first switch element and a second switch element; a shift register circuit connected to the switch circuit; and a detection circuit which detects that an object is close or in contact. Each of the first switch element and the second switch element is selectively turned ON or OFF by the shift register circuit. The detection circuit is electrically connected to the first switch element and the second switch element.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a display capable of improving the detection sensitivity and position resolution even when an input tool has contacted or approached boundary portions of drive ranges or end portions of the display region. The driving electrode driver performs scanning operations for supplying driving signals to one driving electrode or N1 (N1≥2) number of driving electrodes disposed at an end portion on one side of an array. Next, the driving electrode driver repeats scanning operations for supplying the driving signals to the selected N2 (N2≥2) number of driving electrodes a plurality of times by shifting each of the selected N2 number of driving electrodes N3 number by N3 number. N3 is less than N2.
