Abstract:
The present invention relates to a session merging entity in a communication system IMS. The merging entity is handling communication of the first user; the communication includes a first session and a second session. The first session and the second session are merged into a single session towards the second user, if the same IMS communication service identifier has been indicated for the first session and the second session. The merging entity may also be located at the terminal device of the second user.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for emergency call support. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include a home subscriber server receiving a first message comprising a generated value representing a session transfer number. The session transfer number may relate to a transfer of an emergency session from a first network to a second network. The method may further comprise a home subscriber server updating a user profile with the generated value representing the session transfer number for the emergency session. The user profile may be stored in the home subscriber server. The method may further comprise a home subscriber server sending a second message comprising the generated value representing the session transfer number. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
A method can comprise providing single voice radio call continuity using packet data network bi-casting, wherein the call continuity is provided during a handover of a user equipment from a real-time transport protocol voice to a circuit switched voice call In such a method, the real-time transport protocol voice can be carried m a long term evolution system and the circuit switched voice call can be carried in a second or third generation system The method can be performed by a serving network of the user equipment.
Abstract:
A system for updating communication services includes user equipment configured to communicate using a first communication service standard and a second communication service standard, a subscriber database, an application server, and a network device. The network device detects an update trigger corresponding to a user equipment, requests that the user equipment discontinue using the first communication service standard, and flags the user equipment as updated by communicating with the application server and the subscriber database. The network device also receives a communication from the user equipment and determines whether the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard or the second communication service standard. If the communication corresponds to the first communication service standard the network device communicates an error message to the user equipment. However, if the communication corresponds to a second communication service standard, the network device processes the communication.
Abstract:
In a service level interworking unit, a service center (SC) address or a set of SC addresses dedicated for the service level interworking is used whenever an instant message (IM) is interworked to a short message (SM). In other words, if a message is initially sent as an instant message (IM) by user equipment (UE) and is interworked to a short message (SM) by the interworking function, the interworked short message (SM) is sent to a dedicated service center (SC) address. For originating messages that are not interworked, different service center address or addresses are used. A terminating short message (SM) received at the interworking unit is interworked to an instant message (IM) and the interworked instant message (IM) is delivered to the user equipment (UE), if a service center address in the terminating short message (SM) is one of the dedicated service center addresses. If the a service center address in the terminating short message (SM) is not one of the dedicated service center addresses, the terminating short message (SM) is delivered to the user equipment (UE) without a service level interworking.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and entities involved in enabling and improving inter-domain handover. A PS based RAN such as eUTRAN can identify which potential handover to prepare and which handover to initiate, PS-PS or SR-VCC based on: (1) the UE's SR-VCC capabilities, (2) “SR-VCC indication” from the MME, (3) active VoIP bearer, and (4) target cell capabilities.

Abstract:
A network entity, method and computer program product are provided for effectuating a conference session. The method includes receiving a plurality of audio measurements representative of audio levels adjacent respective participants of the conference session. At least one of the audio measurements can be received from a proximity network including a plurality of participants at one of the remote locations, the audio measurement having been identified as the highest audio measurement of the respective proximity network. After receiving the audio measurement, the audio measurements can be compared to identify the highest session measurement such that the participant associated with the highest session measurement is identified as a speaking participant, the identity being transferred to at least some of the participants of the conference session. A network entity, method and computer program product are also provided for presenting the identity of the speaking participant.
Abstract:
A way to provide page-mode messaging is to send a message using a session-mode messaging mechanism with an indication indicating that the session-mode is for a pager-type message. In response to said indication, a receiver treats the message as a page-mode message although it was received in the session-mode.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a method for routing sessions in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) used in a communication system, comprising the step of using a Globally Routable User Agent Uniform Resource Identifier (GRUU) for identifying the instance, wherein the Globally Routable User Agent Uniform Resource Identifier (GRUU) is related to a serving network control element of the instance. By this GRUU, a user equipment can be uniquely identified and a session can reliably be routed via the serving network control element such as an S-CSCF to the user equipment.
