摘要: A robotic vehicle is disclosed, which is characterized by high mobility, adaptability, and the capability of being remotely controlled in hazardous environments. The robotic vehicle includes a chassis having front and rear ends and supported on right and left driven tracks. Right and left elongated flippers are disposed on corresponding sides of the chassis and operable to pivot. A linkage connects a payload deck, configured to support a removable functional payload, to the chassis. The linkage has a first end rotatably connected to the chassis at a first pivot, and a second end rotatably connected to the deck at a second pivot. Both of the first and second pivots include independently controllable pivot drivers operable to rotatably position their corresponding pivots to control both fore-aft position and pitch orientation of the payload deck with respect to the chassis.

摘要: A system and method for garbage collection in heterogeneous multiprocessor systems are provided. In some illustrative embodiments, garbage collection operations are distributed across a plurality of the processors in the heterogeneous multiprocessor system. Portions of a global mark queue are assigned to processors of the heterogeneous multiprocessor system along with corresponding chunks of a shared memory. The processors perform garbage collection on their assigned portions of the global mark queue and corresponding chunk of shared memory marking memory object references as reachable or adding memory object references to a non-local mark stack. The marked memory objects are merged with a global mark stack and memory object references in the non-local mark stack are merged with a “to be traced” portion of the global mark queue for re-checking using a garbage collection operation.

摘要: A method for identifying hair conditioner-resistant hair-binding peptides is described. The hair conditioner-resistant hair-binding peptides bind strongly to hair from a hair conditioner matrix and are stable therein. Peptide-based benefit agents, such as hair conditioners and hair colorants, based on the hair conditioner-resistant hair binding peptides are described. The peptide-based hair conditioners and hair colorants consist of a hair conditioner-resistant hair-binding peptide coupled to a hair conditioning agent or a coloring agent, either directly or through an optional spacer. Hair care and hair coloring product compositions comprising these peptide-based hair conditioners and colorants are also described.

摘要: A system and methods for estimating the size of a parcel based on a mathematical formula derived from other parcels within a size category. The system may include a variety of modules in communication with a relational database for storing data related to parcels being delivered. Similar data may be retrieved from a variety of sources with embodiments of the present invention prioritizing the data based on the reliability of the source. In a further aspect, equipment needs are forecasted by evaluating parcel data over a period of time.

摘要: The present invention presents an apparatus and system for providing an ability to conduct a secondary search using results provided by a first search capability. This secondary search is integrated with the first search and functions as an added tool or accessory. The present invention allows for user control of search ranking, search viewing and search presentations thus affording more relevant information retrieval. Searchers can dynamically and interactively examine and manipulate the search results to improve relevance and quickly satisfy their search objectives.

摘要: Book bindery and trimming apparatus which is directly connectable to the output of a digital printer enable substantially automatic book production. Individual sheets are cut from a printed web, folded and driven into a sheet stacker. The stacker collects the sheets onto a pair of vanes mounted on respective drums until the end of a book is reached. At this point the stacker is moved to its next position(s) and the sheets forming the collected book are deposited on a stack collector. Meanwhile, a new pair of vanes present themselves for book collection. The collected book progresses through a stitcher, for wire stitching, and then to the trimming apparatus. The trimming apparatus has a book path inclined downwardly towards a backstop which, in cooperation with front stop fingers, ensures reliable alignment of the book for trimming.

摘要: A block molded from a polymeric material has a through passageway to contain a percussive shock wave. Angularly related channels communicate with the containment passageway for receiving arcuate segments of detonation cord. Alignment of a plurality of blocks provides a convenient packaging setup for the cord. A percussive signal traveling along the cord can be short-circuited in the packaging setup. A diode version of the block can react to the signal in a given direction of travel.
