Abstract: A printing system includes a digital front end (DFE) system connected to a plurality of printing devices. The DFE system manages printing operations to the plurality of printing devices. The DFE system also includes a printing device connectivity manager to manage connections with the printing devices. Printing connectivity modules are installed at the printing device connectivity manager using application programming interfaces (APIs) that are loaded at the creation of the printing connectivity modules. Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus capable of appropriately setting and adjusting the order of printing jobs by changing an internal priority. An instruction acquiring unit presents a job list in which a plurality of jobs is arranged in printing order, and it acquires a change instruction of the printing order. An internal priority setting unit sets, based on the change instruction acquired by the instruction acquiring unit, an internal priority that is different from set priority specified for each of the plurality of jobs. A list adjusting unit adjusts the printing order of an adding job according to the internal priority set by the internal priority setting unit and reflects adjustment in the job list. An image forming unit outputs each of the plurality of jobs in the printing order based on the job list adjusted by the list adjusting unit.

Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that reduces discomfort when returning from the energy saving mode. The image forming apparatus can switch between an energy saving mode and a normal mode that consumes more power than the energy saving mode as the operation mode. A human sensor can detect a person and calculate the distance to the person. An operation mode control unit raises the temperature of the fixing unit of the image forming unit when a person detected by the human sensor approaches within the first specific distance, and it start transport unit to be driven when the person approaches within a second specific distance, which is closer than the first specific distance.
