摘要: An ignition device for an internal combustion engine including: a DC power source; a convertor for raising the voltage of the DC power source to a predetermined voltage; a charge storing device arranged to be charged with the output from the convertor; an ignition coil; an ignition signal generator for generating an ignition signal in synchronization with the rotation of the internal combustion engine; a switch which is switched on in response to the ignition signal generated by the ignition signal generator to discharge a charge stored in the charge storing device through the ignition coil; and a controller for stopping the operation of the convertor during a period in which the ignition signal is being transmitted from the ignition signal generator.

摘要: An ignition apparatus for an internal combustion engine is capable of avoiding mis-ignition even if subject to external disturbances when a fail signal is transmitted through a common signal line on which an ignition signal can also be transmitted. An igniter is connected to receive the ignition signal from an ECU, and includes a waveform shaper connected with the signal line and having an input connected in parallel to an input resistance so as to make a voltage at the input higher than a prescribed voltage when the ignition signal flows into the input resistance, and a pulse output circuit connected to the input and having an output for generating the fail signal into which a secondary coil current is converted. The pulse output circuit adjusts a fail signal current such that the voltage at the input when the fail signal flows into the input resistance becomes less than the prescribed voltage.

摘要: A knock control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a knock detector for extracting a vibration component superposed on an ion current, and waveform shaping it at a predetermined threshold value to generate a train of knock pulses (Kp) of which the number of pulses indicates a knock intensity of a knock generated in the internal combustion engine, and an engine control unit for counting the number of knock pulses (npn) in the knock pulse train (Kp) output from the knock detector. The engine control unit judges, based on the number of knock pulses (npn), whether or not a knock is occurring. The engine control unit performs a peak hold of the number of knock pulses to calculate the knock judgement threshold value (BGL) by multiplying the number of pulses by (&agr;). Thus, precision in knock judgement is improved by performing knock judgement based on a maximum value (MAX) of the number of knock pulses (npn).

摘要: A device for controlling knocking of an internal combustion engine featuring improved reliability by preventing signals of the knocking level from being erroneously detected as those of the noise level. The device detects an ionic current flowing through a spark plug, counts a signal of the knocking level from the ionic current, establishes an average knocking level from the signals of the knocking level and determines a background level from the average knocking level. A comparator judges the knocking state by comparing the signal of the knocking level with the background level. The device calculates the control quantity of the engine based on the operation conditions and the result of judgement of knocking. The device further judges a transient state and decreases the average knocking level depending upon a transience judgment signal in order to maintain a background level in a transient state at an optimum value.

摘要: An ignition coil device for an internal-combustion engine reduces the deterioration in reliability caused by heat stress. The ignition coil device is provided with: a case (5); a core (6) provided in the case (5); a primary coil (8) which is provided so that it surrounds the core (6) and which has a primary winding (13) trough which a primary current flows composed of a conductor wound around a bottomed cylindrical primary bobbin (12); a secondary coil (9) which is provided so that it surrounds the primary coil (8) and in which high voltage is generated by the interruption of the primary current; a stopper (21) which is provided at an opening (12a) of the primary bobbin (12) to close the opening (12a) of the primary bobbin (12); and an insulator (11) composed of a thermosetting resin which is provided in the case (5) to secure the primary coil (8) and the secondary coil (9) in the case (5). The stopper (21) prevents the insulator (11), which has not yet been thermally cured, from flowing between the core (6) and the primary bobbin (12) when it is charged into the case (5).

摘要: An ignition apparatus for internal combustion engine includes an ignition power unit 1A having a power transistor 14A for feeding and shutting off a primary current i1 to and from an ignition coil 13 and a control circuit 2 having a CPU 21 for calculating an ignition timing of an internal combustion engine and a feeding time of the primary current in accordance with an operating state D and outputting an ignition signal G to the power transistor, feeds and shuts off the primary current in response to an ignition signal Ga to generate a high-tension secondary voltage from the ignition coil. The power transistor has a characteristic for increasing a direct current amplifying ratio as a base to emitter voltage VBE between a base and emitter increases to suppress the rising-up of the primary current to thereby suppress a secondary voltage generated when the primary current starts to be fed. With this arrangement, the ignition apparatus for internal combustion engine can suppress malfunction when the ignition signal rises up without the use of a high-tension diode and realize cost reduction and miniaturization of the apparatus.

摘要: To provide a combustion condition detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine, which may well detect the combustion conditions such as discrimination of a combustion cylinder and knock generating condition and may reduce a circuit scale therefor, there are provided an ignition coil 21 provided for each cylinder; an ignition plug 20 for discharging by the application of the ignition high tension voltage to ignite mixture within the cylinder; a bias circuit 1 provided for each cylinder for applying a bias voltage to the ignition plug 20; an ionic current detection circuit 2 provided for each cylinder for detecting as an ionic current detection signal an ionic current 6 generated in the cylinder that is immediately after the combustion of the mixture; a knock signal processing circuit 4 provided one for a combination of a plurality of cylinders that are every two or more cylinders in ignition order on the basis of a sum of the ionic current detection signals; and an ECU 5 for detecting the combustion condition of the ignition plug on the basis of the knock signal.

摘要: A knock suppression control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which can avoid erroneous knock detection and hence the erroneous knock suppression control, to thereby ensure knock suppression control with high reliability.
