摘要: A vehicle control device is provided, which includes an engine including an ignition plug oriented inside a combustion chamber, a component provided in or near an exhaust passage of the engine, a processor configured to execute a vehicle attitude controlling module for controlling an attitude of a vehicle by retarding an ignition timing of the ignition plug to reduce an engine torque so as to decelerate the vehicle, when a condition is satisfied, the condition being that the vehicle is traveling and a steering angle related value that is related to a steering angle of a steering device increases, and a torque reduction restricting module for restricting a reduction amount of the engine torque as at least one of an engine load and an engine speed increases during the vehicle attitude control.

摘要: An ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine including: a setting unit configured to set a target ignition timing of the internal combustion engine based on a reference ignition timing and an advance correction amount; a start determination unit configured to determine, based on change in an alcohol concentration, whether or not the fuel injected from a fuel injection valve starts to switch from a first fuel to a second fuel higher in the alcohol concentration than the first fuel; a completion determination unit configured to determine whether or not switching to the second fuel is completed; a restriction unit configured to restrict the advance correction amount during a switching period to the advance correction amount corresponding to the alcohol concentration of the first fuel or lower; and a cancel unit configured to cancel restriction of the advance correction amount after the completion of the switching is determined.

摘要: Methods for preventing a premature ignition of a cylinder charge in advance of a planned ignition point in an internal combustion engine are provided. In one method, a pressure in a crankcase of the internal combustion engine is adjusted so as to prevent lubricating oil constituents from being transported from the crankcase to a combustion chamber of a cylinder of the internal combustion engine due to a pressure ratio between the crankcase and the combustion chamber. In another method, an ignition point for a cylinder of the internal combustion engine is adjusted in a given operating range of the internal combustion engine in such a way that the adjusted ignition point brings about a knocking combustion in the cylinder. Internal combustion engines having a device for preventing a premature ignition of a cylinder charge in advance of a planned ignition point are also provided.

The method includes receiving a characteristic regarding operation of a coil ignition system; determining a blowout condition exists for the coil ignition system based on the characteristic; and providing a command to the coil ignition system based on the determination that the blowout condition exists, wherein the command is structured to reduce a residual charge amount in the coil ignition system.

摘要: An ignition system for an internal combustion engine that utilizes a single primary coil and a single secondary coil to drive a pair of spark plugs. Current flowing in both a first direction and a second direction passes through the primary coil. The current flowing through the primary coil induces corresponding current in the secondary coil, which flows from the secondary coil to one of two spark plugs. Each spark plug is coupled to the secondary coil such that each of the two spark plugs receives current flowing only in a single direction. The current flowing through the ignition system can be from either a power source or created by the rotation of a flywheel having a series of magnet clusters.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for reducing torque transients experienced when a dedicated EGR cylinder is deactivated to reduce EGR. Before deactivating the dedicated cylinder, an intake throttle position and spark timing of remaining engine cylinders is adjusted to build-up torque reserve in anticipation of a negative torque transient at deactivation. Then, the throttle position or spark timing is adjusted to reduce torque when a positive torque transient is expected.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for restarting an engine when a high pressure fuel pump is degraded. In response to an indication of high pressure fuel pump degradation, fuel may be injected during an intake stroke, rather than a compression stroke, for a selected number of combustion events since the engine restart. By shifting to an intake stroke injection, the engine may be started even when sufficient fuel rail pressures are not available.
