摘要： A method is provided for treating aggregate useful in the production of asphalt concrete. The aggregate is treated with an aqueous solution of a mixture of a polyelectrolyte and a surfactant. The resulting treated aggregate has substantially the same resistance to weatherability as shown by aggregate treated with polyelectrolyte free of surfactant. In addition, aggregate treated with the surfactant-polyelectrolyte mixture and thereafter coated with asphalt exhibits a superior ability to resist asphalt stripping, as compared to aggregate treated with polyelectrolyte free of surfactant.
