Abstract:
The failure mail identification section and delivery status notification mail identification section identify whether or not the received E-mail data is failure mail and delivery status notification mail, respectively. Based on the identification result, the specific information extraction section extracts information necessary for output from the E-mail data. The format conversion section converts the extracted data to facsimile data. The data edit section edits the converted data. The edited data is transmitted by the facsimile communication unit to the G3 facsimile via PSTN. This allows failure mail and delivery status notification mail to be distinguished from normal E-mail, saving recording paper.
Abstract:
An e-mail apparatus comprises a memory to which a character string showing a domain name is stored; a display for dividing an e-mail address into a plurality of segments including a segment of the domain name so as to be displayed and for displaying the character string of the domain name stored in the memory at the segment of the domain name; a button for changing the domain name displayed on the display to other domain name stored in the memory; a dividing section, which configures to divide the character string of the e-mail as a sender included in the received e-mail into a plurality of segments; and a storing section, which configures to store the character string, corresponding to the segment of at least the domain name in the divided character, to the memory.
Abstract:
A particular image written in a particular paper of a particular paper size is scanned by a scanner to produce image data, a format of the image data is changed to a mail format to change the image data to mail data, the particular paper size is added to the mail data, and the mail data is transmitted from a transmitting side to a receiving side through a LAN by an electronic mail. In the receiving side, the mail data is changed to reproduced image data, and it is judged whether or not the particular paper size of the particular paper is larger than a prescribed paper size treatable on the receiving side. In cases where the particular paper size is larger than the prescribed paper size, the reproduced image data is thinned but to produce adjusted image data, and a downsized image is printed on a prescribed paper of the prescribed paper size according to the adjusted image data. Accordingly, even though an image written in a paper of a paper size not treatable on the receiving side is transmitted from the transmitting side to the receiving side, because the image is downsized, the image can be reproduced on the receiving side.

Abstract:
E-mail transmitting/receiving means for a network are provided. Identification data are created from the received mail and reply mail including the identification data is notified to the sender of the received mail. In the case that a file attached to the received mail cannot be opened, the message ID of the received mail is included in the identification data. This makes it possible to accurately and simply notify the sender of the data that resulted in an error or data that have been received successfully even in the case that a large capacity memory or hard disk is not available.
Abstract:
A plurality of documents including at least one symbol is scanned by a scanner section so as to be converted to image data. The symbol is recognized from image data by a symbol recognizing section. Next, a table creating section creates a link table in which the symbol included in one page is made to correspond to the other page having a common shaped symbol. A document creating section creates an HTML document using the link table based on an HTML. When the symbol of one page in the HTML document on a screen is clicked, an access to the other page can be obtained.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail receiver, a converter, a controller, a facsimile transmitter, and an output system are integrated in a body of an apparatus. The electronic-mail receiver receives an electronic-mail including image data in an electronic-mail format. The converter converts the image data in an electronic-mail format into image data in facsimile format. The controller determines whether the received electronic-mail is directed to facsimile transmission. The facsimile transmitter negotiates with a facsimile destination, and transmits the converted image data in the facsimile format to the facsimile destination via a telephone network, when the controller determines that the received electronic-mail is directed to facsimile transmission. The printer outputs the image data in the facsimile format when the controller determines that the received electronic-mail address is not directed to facsimile transmission.
Abstract:
In a facsimile communication method for transmitting facsimile data to a reception terminal from a facsimile machine via a communication network, a transmission process in the facsimile machine includes the following steps: (a) a step of saving image data of an original to be transmitted as facsimile data in a storage; (b) a step of generating access information data for access to the image data, saved in the storage, from the reception terminal via the transmission network; (c) a step of sending the access information data to the reception terminal by an e-mail; and (d) a step of transmitting the image data in the storage to the reception terminal from the facsimile machine by a communication protocol of a point-to-point data transfer form upon reception of an access request for the image data from the reception terminal.
Abstract:
An electronic mail system connected to a network includes a section for converting an image of a document surface into corresponding document image data, and a section for compressing the document image data into compression-resultant image data. The electronic mail system also includes a section for converting the compression-resultant image data into corresponding image data of a given electronic-mail format, a section for receiving information of an electronic-mail destination address, and a section for transmitting the image data of the electronic-mail format toward the electronic-mail destination address via the network. The electronic mail system may further include a section for receiving image data in an electronic mail, a section for converting the received image data into corresponding received image data of a given facsimile format, a section for expanding the received image data of the facsimile format into expansion-resultant image data, and a section for printing the expansion-resultant image data.
