Abstract: Disclosed herein is a scroll compressor including a casing, a drive motor arranged in the casing, a shaft coupled to the drive motor, a main frame arranged under the drive motor, a fixed scroll arranged under the main frame, an orbiting scroll arranged between the main frame and the fixed scroll and engaged with the fixed scroll to form a compression chamber with the shaft eccentrically coupled to the orbiting scroll, a discharge cover coupled to the fixed scroll to form a closed space, a discharge port formed in the fixed scroll to connect the compression chamber and the closed space, and a discharge hole passing through the main frame and the fixed scroll, wherein an inlet and an inner portion of the discharge hole have different cross-sectional areas. The scroll compressor can reduce the noise caused by movement of the refrigerant by improving the structure of the discharge holes.

Abstract: Disclosed is a scroll compressor with a refrigerant discharge flow passage and an oil recovery flow passage separated from each other to improve efficiency and reliability of the compressor. The scroll compressor includes a flow passage separation unit configured to separate an intermediate space between a drive portion and a compression portion into an inner space communicating with the refrigerant flow passage and an outer space communicating with the oil flow passage to separate the refrigerant discharge path from the oil recovery path. Accordingly, the present invention may prevent the oil from being mixed with the discharged refrigerant, thereby reducing an oil discharge amount.

One or more oil dimples may be formed at a peripheral end surface positioned between an inner circumferential portion and an outer circumferential portion of the rotational shaft coupling portion. With such a configuration, as oil may be smoothly supplied to an end surface of the orbiting wrap near the rotational shaft coupling portion, abrasion may be prevented.

Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided that may include an orbiting scroll having an orbiting wrap, and which performs an orbiting motion; and a fixed scroll having a fixed wrap to form a compression chamber including a suction chamber, an intermediate pressure chamber, and a discharge chamber, by being engaged with the orbiting wrap. In a state in which the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll are concentric with each other, when a distance between the orbiting wrap and the fixed wrap is defined as an orbiting radius, there exists an offset section having an interval larger than the orbiting radius, between a side surface of the orbiting wrap and a side surface of the fixed wrap which faces the orbiting wrap. With such a configuration, even if the fixed scroll or the orbiting scroll is transformed due to thermal expansion, interference between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at a portion having a large transformation amount may be prevented. This may prevent a frictional loss or abrasion between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap. Further, this may restrict or minimize a gap between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at an opposite side to the suction chamber, resulting in enhanced compression efficiency.

Abstract: A scroll compressor is disclosed. A scroll compressor according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a compression part for discharging, to the inner space of a casing, a refrigerant compressed in a compression chamber; a discharge port for forming a flow path through which the refrigerant compressed in the compression chamber is discharged to the outside of the compression chamber; and a valve member, which has, at one end portion thereof, a root part fixed to a valve seat part of the compression part, forms a free end on the other end portion thereof, and has a head part to open/close the discharge port. A spacing part is provided between the head part of the valve member and the valve seat part to space the head part from the valve seat part in a state in which the compression part stops. Therefore, during operation of the valve member, the moving speed of the head part is reduced by means of the stiffness of the valve member so that impact force generated when the head part of the valve member collides with one surface of the compression part is reduced and impact noise generated thereby can be decreased.
