摘要: Digital watermarks are embedded in image data (102)in order to enable authentication of the image data and/or replacement of rejected portions of the image data. Authentication codes are derived by comparing selected discrete cosine transform (DCT) (104) coefficients within DCT data (106) derived from the original, spatial-domain image data. The authentication codes thus generated are embedded in DCT coefficients (612) other than the ones which were used to derive the authentication codes. The resulting, watermarked data can be sent or made available to one or more recipients who can compress or otherwise use the watermarked data. Image data derived from the watermarked data—e.g, compressed versions of the watermarked data—can be authenticated by: extracting the embedded authentication codes, comparing DCT coefficients derived from the coefficients from which the original authentication codes were generated; and determining whether the compared DCT coefficients are consistent with the extracted authentication codes.

摘要: A method for detecting a watermark signal in digital image data. The detecting method includes the steps of: computing a log-polar Fourier transform of the image data to obtain a log-polar Fourier spectrum; projecting the log-polar Fourier spectrum down to a lower dimensional space to obtain an extracted signal; comparing the extracted signal to a target watermark signal; and declaring the presence or absence of the target watermark signal in the image data based on the comparison. Also provided is a method for inserting a watermark signal in digital image data to obtain a watermarked image. The inserting method includes the steps of: computing a log-polar Fourier transform of the image data to obtain a log-polar Fourier spectrum; projecting the log-polar Fourier spectrum down to a lower dimensional space to obtain an extracted signal; modifying the extracted signal such that it is similar to a target watermark; performing a one-to-many mapping of the modified signal back to log-polar Fourier transform space to obtain a set of watermarked coefficients; and performing an inverse log-polar Fourier transform on the set of watermarked coefficients to obtain a watermarked image.

摘要: A method, system and computer program product for finding a diversified ranking list for a given query. In one embodiment, a multitude of date items responsive to the query are identified, a marginal score is established for each data item; and a set, or ranking list, of the data items is formed based on these scores. This ranking list is formed by forming an initial set, and one or more data items are added to the ranking list based on the marginal scores of the data items. In one embodiment, each of the data items has a measured relevance and a measured diversity value, and the marginal scores for the data items are based on the measured relevance and the measured diversity values of the data items.

摘要: System and method for modeling a content-based network. The method includes finding single mode clusters from among network (sender and recipient) and content dimensions represented as a tensor data structure. The method allows for derivation of useful cross-mode clusters (interpretable patterns) that reveal key relationships among user communities and keyword concepts for presentation to users in a meaningful and intuitive way. Additionally, the derivation of useful cross-mode clusters is facilitated by constructing a reduced low-dimensional representation of the content-based network. Moreover, the invention may be enhanced for modeling and analyzing the time evolution of social communication networks and the content related to such networks. To this end, a set of non-overlapping or possibly overlapping time-based windows is constructed and the analysis performed at each successive time interval.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for ranking information content based on performance data of prior users of the information content. Information content is ranked by receiving a search request specifying search criteria; identifying a preliminary document list by searching a corpus using the search criteria; identifying content elements in documents in the preliminary document list; assigning a value to at least one document in the preliminary document list based on a score for each content element in the at least one document, wherein the score is based on a performance measure of one or more related users that accessed one or more documents having a given content element; and providing search results based on the assigned values. The score can be assigned, for example, based on a regression model between the performance measure and one or more of the content elements and/or one or more social network metrics.
