Abstract: A semi-flexible insecticide strip is removably attached to the belt of a pelt collar to regenerate a pest-killing medicament and increase its efficacy. The strip is secured to the belt surface that faces the animal skin or fur by attachment loops or edged retainers that are generally perpendicular to the length direction of the belt. Due to the geometry and elasticity of the semi-flexible insecticide strip, and its attachment method, the strip contacts the skin or fur of the animal despite movement of the pet collar when the animal is being exercised with a pet leash attached thereto. The contact effectively transfers the insecticide and kills ticks and fleas or retards development of mature flea adults. The insecticide is contained within a plurality of plastic pores of the insecticide strip or in a sponge affixed thereto.

Abstract: An omnidirectionally illuminated helmet emits light along a substantial portion of the helmet surface. An interior cushion is provided for comfort and safety of the wearer's head, while an outer shell is provided for protection from impacts. This outer shell includes a plurality of transparent displays intermingled with opaque sections or regions throughout the entire surface. An electroluminescent light source substantially covers the interior cushion. The outer shell is then placed upon the electroluminescent light source in a manner that aligns the plurality of transparent displays with the light source so that the transparent displays emit light therefrom. Transparent displays are located on the entire hemispherical constructs of the outer shell, including the sides, back, front, and top, so that light is emitted from virtually the entire helmet and can be seen from any vantage point. The margin of safety provided during dusk or night-time hours when vehicles may be approaching is substantially increased by illuminating the wearer's head from all angles.

Abstract: A flexible omnidirectionally reflective pet leash and collar having a handle and a cylindrical central core is housed within a cylindrical omnidirectionally reflective sleeve that reflect an incoming light beam back in the same direction as it is emanated. The reflected light beam provides accurate illumination of the pet owner's hand, pet leash and the location of the pet during dusk or nighttime hours. This flexible omnidirectionally reflective pet leash is created by surrounding a central core with a cylindrically reflective sleeve comprising a flexible retroreflective sheet and being operable to surround the central cylindrical core thereby providing omnidirectional reflectivity. The flexible retroreflective sheet has retroreflectors bonded thereto with a transparent bond layer. Due to the circular construction of the cylindrically reflective sleeve, the reflective pet leash reflects light omnidirectionally over a large angle of acceptance, illuminating the pet owner's hand, the leash itself, and the pet's collar, thereby providing an improved measure of safety for both the pet and the pet handler.

Abstract: A nylon or polypropylene cylindrical central braided rope core is wound with an electroluminescent wire to form a pet leash. The electroluminescent wire is powered by a portable power supply attached to the handle of the pet leash causing illumination of the electroluminescent wire continuously or intermittently at a selected blink rate. Alternatively, the wound electroluminescent wire surrounds a cylindrical braided reflective sleeve that covers the central braided rope. The cylindrical braided reflective sleeve reflects incident light back to its source while the electroluminescent illumination is provided. Reflection and illumination of light are omnidirectional. The braided construction of the central core and reflective sleeve, together with the configuration of the electroluminescent wire, resist tensile, twist and torsional forces, enabling reliable emission of omnidirectional illumination and reflectivity. In combination, the omnidirectional illumination and reflectivity, strength and flexibility provide a higher margin of safety for pets and their owners while walking in dimly lit environments where vehicles are encountered.

Abstract: A long life scent dispersing mat apparatus uses an outer housing with apertures appointed to disperse a scent or fragrance. The fragrance is provided in a fragrant body which is a springy spongy rubber or polymeric sponge soaked with essential oils that have high vapor pressure at ambient temperatures. The fragrant body is inserted into an inner pouch which has small apertures and the stagnant air within the inner pouch attains saturation of fragrance vapor, thereby stopping further evaporation of the essential oils. When the scent-dispersing mat is stepped on, the inner pouch releases the saturated fragrant vapor into the interior of the outer housing and it is released to room air through apertures provided in the outer housing. When force on the mat is released, the fragrant body recovers its original shape and the inner pouch draws fresh make up air and essential oils volatilize until saturation is reached.

Abstract: A double diaper package includes adhesively attached, similarly sized inner and outer diapers. Each of the diapers has a liquid permeable skin contacting net and a liquid impermeable polymeric back sheet edge bonded to each other so as to surround and encase a super-absorber in a fibrous matrix. The inner diaper has an adhesive coated edge flap of the liquid impermeable sheet extending from the edge bond. This edge flap secures the outer diaper to the inner diaper, forming a double diaper package that is attached to the baby using waist-securing tabs connected to the inner diaper. When soiled, the inner diaper is pulled away by releasing the waist-securing tabs and the adhesive edge flap attachment. Abstract: A hairbrush for people and pets releases liquid gel perfume, fragrance and/or other active compositions including insect repellant, hair conditioning composition, dye composition, moisturizing ingredients, or antibacterial compounds when brushed or activated by manually depressing a cover.
