Abstract: A multilayer body includes liquid crystal polymer layers including first, second, and third liquid crystal polymer layers stacked on each other in a Z-axis direction. The first liquid crystal polymer layer is located farther toward a positive side of the Z axis than the rest of the plural liquid crystal polymer layers. The third liquid crystal polymer layer is located farther toward a negative side of the Z axis than the rest of the plural liquid crystal polymer layers. At least one first conductive layer is located between the first liquid crystal polymer layer and the second liquid crystal polymer layer and/or between the second liquid crystal polymer layer and the third liquid crystal polymer layer. A gas permeability amount of the first liquid crystal polymer layer per unit volume and that of the third liquid crystal polymer layer are greater than that of the second liquid crystal polymer layer.

Abstract: Laminated automotive glazing, once limited to just the windshield, is finding more and more application in other positions in vehicles due to its ability to reduce weight, as well as to improve passenger safety, security and comfort. Designing a laminate that can serve as a direct replacement for tempered glass can be challenging Tempered glass is 4 to 5 times stronger than annealed glass and the lamination process has limitations that are not present with tempered. In particular, it is difficult to produce thin laminated glazing with holes. The laminate of the invention comprises strengthened thin glass layers in combination with laminated inserts to provide a thin laminated glazing with holes that has all of the advantages inherent in a laminate while retaining the reliability and utility of a tempered part and further can serve as a direct replacement for a tempered part.

Abstract: A molded ceiling material for vehicles having a substrate layer containing a porous core layer, a surface member and a ventilation control mechanism to control the ventilation volume that is vented from a cabin side of the surface member to the substrate layer. Sound generated in the vehicle cabin is absorbed by the substrate layer through the ventilation control mechanism. That is, the molded ceiling material is equipped with sound-absorption performance for sound from the cabin side of the vehicle. If the sound-absorption rate is increased, the ventilation volume to the substrate layer is increased. If the sound-absorption rate is decreased, the ventilation volume to the substrate layer is reduced. The sound-absorption rate of the molded ceiling material can be controlled regardless of the thickness of the substrate layer. Consequently, the molded ceiling materials for vehicles can be provided with sound-absorption performance corresponding to the sound-absorption characteristics of the vehicle.

Abstract: Disclosed is a building board construction that provides enhanced acoustical properties. In one possible embodiment, the board is a gypsum board with opposing facing sheets and an intermediate set gypsum core. An opened celled polymeric sheet is formed within the gypsum core and gives the resulting board enhanced sound absorption. In an alternative embodiment, individual pieces of polymeric foam are used in stead of the polymeric sheet. Also disclosed are various manufacturing methods whereby boards with enhanced acoustical properties can be formed in an continuous process. The various components of the present disclosure, and the manner in which they interrelate, are described in greater detail hereinafter.
