摘要： A land grid array socket is provided which includes an insulative housing (22) having a plurality of passageways (24) each accommodating an electrical terminal (1) therein. Contacting ends (134) of the terminal in a same row of the passageways all extend along a predetermined lateral direction, and because of bend of a bending portion (132) in the terminal, the contacting end of the terminal in one passageway does not overlap with another terminal in an adjacent passageway along a vertical direction so as to avoid short circuit risk therebetween.

摘要： A socket connector for carrying an integrated circuit package includes an insulative housing, a stiffener surrounding the housing, a load plate pivotably assembled with one end of the stiffener and a load lever pivotably attached to the other end of the stiffener. The load plate defines a pair of pressing portions. Each of the pressing portions defines a wider part and a narrower part. During the rotation process of the load plate, the wider part firstly presses a pressing point of the IC package. A critical point, on which the wider part firstly presses, is ascertained that a distance from the critical point to a center of the IC package is approximately 5/24 of the entire length along the same direction. The pressing point is within a range from the critical point to the center of the IC package.

摘要： An electrical socket for electrically connecting with a pin of a IC package. A contact secured in the socket comprises first and second claw portions formed on opposite ends thereof and two spring arms between the first and second claw portions for being engaged with the IC package pin. The first and second claw portions have two claw feet, respectively. The four claw feet define a clip section in which a solder ball can be received and kept in a predetermined plane when the solder ball is pressed towards the contact. The claw feet can grip the solder ball firmly to avoid the falling of the solder ball during assembling and soldering procedure.

摘要： A ZIF socket connector (20) includes a base (22), a cover (24), an actuator (26) and a number of electrical contacts (30). The cover is movably assembled to the base and the base defines a plurality of openings extending therethrough to receive the electrical contacts. Each electrical contact has a retention portion (31), a solder portion (32) extending from the retention portion, a first arm (33) and a second arm (34). The first and the second arms extend upwardly from the retention portion and beside each other. The first arm has a beam section, a curved section and a free end. The second arm includes a leg section and a curved contacting section. The free end and the curved contacting section cooperate with each other to press therebetween and electrically connect with a pin of an electronic package received on the cover.
