    摘要: A power tool with a working head for holding a working element. The power tool includes a motor having a motor output shaft for driving said working element and a duct having an inlet locatable in proximity to a point of contact between the working element and a workpiece. A dust collection chamber has an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet from said duct, and an outlet in fluid communication with atmospheric air. A fan is operable to transport air from the inlet of said duct to the inlet of said dust collection chamber. A first drive wheel is mounted on the motor output shaft. A second, driven, wheel mounted on a second shaft and a drive belt connects the first, drive wheel to the second, driven wheel, for transmitting power from the motor output shaft to the second shaft. The fan is mounted on the second shaft.

    摘要: A health monitoring arrangement for a solenoid includes an armature for coupling to the solenoid, the armature being displaceable proportional to a driving current applied to the solenoid. A monitoring coil is wound around the armature such that the armature is displaceable relative to the monitoring coil. A voltage monitor coupled to the monitoring coil generates a voltage signature in respect of the solenoid that is proportional to the armature displacement. An analyzer analyzes the voltage signature to determine the health of the solenoid. Also a method of monitoring the health of a solenoid is provided.

    摘要: A protection circuit and method are provided for protecting semiconductor devices from electrostatic discharge (ESD). Generally, the ESD protection circuit includes a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) formed in a substrate and configured to transfer charge from a protected node to a negative power supply, VSS, during an ESD event, and a trigger device to activate transfer of charge by the SCR when a voltage on the protected node reaches a predetermined trigger voltage. The trigger device includes a gated-diode and MOS capacitor formed in a well formed in the substrate, the trigger device configured to inject electrons into the well during charging of the MOS capacitor, forward biasing a node of the SCR, hence allowing fast triggering of the SCR device. The trigger voltage can be set independent of a holding voltage by adjusting the length of the well and area of the capacitor. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

The transistor includes a semiconductor substrate, a source region, a channel region adjacent the source region, a gate over the channel region, and a drain region laterally displaced from the channel. The silicon controlled rectifier includes the source region, a portion of the substrate, a doped well, and a first contact region in the well, laterally displaced from the drain region. The collection region, the source region and the gate, are metallically connected. The node, the first contact region, and the second contact region, are metallically connected, and the drain region is not metallically connected to the node.
