    摘要: A de-coupling mechanism includes a link slidably received in a link aperture of a bracket. A pin is slidably received in a pin bore of the link and a receiving bore of the bracket. A first block is connected to the bracket and includes an initiator receiving passage in communication with the pin bore. An initiator is positioned in the initiator receiving passage and retained against a connecting passage edge and oppositely contacts an end face of a cap connected to the first block. A second block connected to the bracket includes a longitudinal channel having a channel diameter larger than a pin diameter so the pin is freely displaceable into the longitudinal channel. An end face of a retaining cap is connected to a second block end wall. The retaining cap includes a stepped portion having a step diameter smaller than the channel diameter and the pin diameter.

The support strap is formed with an extension piece configured to lengthen when exposed to a load as a result of an accident or explosion. A winding unit holds the support strap to shorten an effective length of the support strap and to build up a force to maintain the support strap under tension after the support strap underwent a lengthening in an area of the extension piece as a result of a load caused by a force resulting from an accident or explosion so as to reestablish an effective length of the support strap for lengthening during a subsequent force impact.

    摘要: Vehicle seats that reduce the potential for injury to occupants when the vehicle is subjected to a mine or similar explosive device. The seats are ceiling or wall mounted and include a trailing arm which allows for deflection while providing stability. The seat isolates the occupants from the chassis of the vehicle via a pneumatic or other shock absorber and/or a crushable element to provide protection from vertical and horizontal oriented blasts. These seats can also be combined with shock absorbing/isolating foot rests, appendage (leg) restrain systems and an occupant four-point harness to offer a completely integrated system. This integrated system reduces acceleration/deceleration related injuries, shock injuries to the lower legs, flailing injuries to the lower legs and internal collision injuries. Other options and alternatives are also described.

    摘要: A method and suspension apparatus for suspending an object in a vehicle. The vehicle having inner surfaces including a lower surface and an upper surface, comprising an object and a suspension apparatus adapted for holding the object in a suspended position in the vehicle. The suspension apparatus comprising an elongated suspension element, an anchoring arrangement for spacing the object from, and arresting its motion towards, the lower and upper surfaces of the vehicle in the suspended position, and a tensioning mechanism adapted to tension the elongated suspension element. The elongated suspension element comprising a first end portion, a second end portion and a central portion extending therebetween. The anchoring arrangement comprising a plurality of connection elements including static and dynamic connection elements which are fixed to the lower and upper surfaces of the vehicle and the object, and which engage the suspension element, thereby holding it in a predetermined spatial disposition with the possibility to be tensioned by the tensioning mechanism. The engagement of the suspension element with the connection elements is in the form of static connection of each of the end portions with the static connection elements, and dynamic connection of the central portion with the dynamic connection elements, which are disposed on the object and/or at least two spaced apart points on the upper surface, whereby the central portion of the suspension element is allowed to move relative to the dynamic connection elements when the suspension element is not under tension.
