摘要: A decoding device for decoding a data stream includes a decoding table including a first region and a second region; a first decoder; and a second decoder. The first region defines a relationship between first data having a predetermined number of bits and a result of decoding a portion of the first data having bits smaller than or equal to the predetermined number. The second region defines a relationship between concatenated data obtained by concatenating the first data with second data having additional bits and a result of decoding the concatenated data. The first decoder reads the first data from the data stream; decodes the portion of the first data based on the first region; determines whether the decoding of the portion of the first data is completed or not; and when the decoding of the portion of the first data is completed, outputs a result of the decoding of the portion of the first data. When the decoding of the portion of the first data is not completed, the second decoder reads the second data out of the data stream; concatenates the first data with the second data to generate the concatenated data; decodes the concatenated data based on the second region; and outputs a result of the decoding of the concatenated data.

摘要: A sound field controller for generating apparent sound sources by adjusting the amplitude and delay time of a sound signal so that the sound will be perceived by plural listeners as sound coming from a location separated from the specific location of the front speakers, and for additionally controlling the effect of the apparent sound sources by evaluating the attributes of the source sound signal. The controller includes FIR filters for generating a left sound pattern signal, FIR filters for generating a right sound pattern signal, a first delay circuit for delaying the left and right sound pattern signals by a first predetermined time and applying the delayed left and right sound pattern signals to the left and right speakers, respectively, to introduce an apparent sound source located left rear of a center listener; and a second delay circuit for delaying the left and right sound pattern signals by a second predetermined time and applying the delayed left and right sound pattern signals to the right and left speakers, respectively, to introduce an apparent sound source located right rear of a center listener.

摘要: A sound field switcher inputs an output sound field signal from a sound field producer. The inputted sound field signal is delayed sequentially by plural delayers, after which they are multiplied by coefficients by plural multipliers, and the multiplied results are all added by an adder. Coefficients stored in an area of a memory indicated by a coefficient counter are read out and set to the plural multipliers. The sound field switcher carries out control of the timing for switching the sound field signal produced by the sound field producer and the timing for the coefficient counter to commence counting. Assuming the time required for switching the sound field to be N sampling periods, in case of carrying out a sound field switching from a sound field A to a sound field B, a sound field switching controller issues an order to the coefficient counter so as to count up one by one from 0 to N, and on each count the coefficients stored in an area of the coefficient memory is set to the multipliers. When the count value of the coefficient counter comes to (N/2) or nearest to (N/2), the sound field switching controller issues an order to the sound field producer to output the sound field signal of the sound field B. When the count value of the coefficient counter comes to N, the switching from the sound field A to the sound field B is completed.

摘要: An apparatus for calculating a filter factor for a digital filter which can be simply constructed and in which the time period for calculation can be shortened as compared with conventional techniques. The apparatus has an input circuit for inputting a desirable frequency property, a division circuit for dividing the inputted frequency property into a plurality of frequency bands, and a calculating circuit for obtaining filter factors for realizing a frequency property of each of the divided frequency bands. The input circuit inputs the frequency property with a frequency resolution corresponding to the number of the filter factors. The division circuit performs a correction for a division so that the frequency property becomes zero from a frequency over the high cut-off frequency of a band-pass filter toward the Nyquist frequency of the frequency band corresponding to the transversal filter, the Nyquist frequency being 1/2 of the sampling frequency. The calculating circuit has a transformation unit for performing a Hilbert transformation or a linear phase transformation with respect to the respective frequency properties divided by the division circuit.

摘要: According to the data amount and the nature of a video stream and an audio stream included in a program stream which is to be decoded, an audio and video processing apparatus performs processing while allocating higher priority to one or the other of the video and audio streams. Without any increase in circuit complexity or clock speed, this apparatus can reproduce streams in at least two formats, in which the ratios of the amounts of encoded signal data and of the amounts of calculation required for decoding for the video and the audio are very different.
