摘要： The object is to obtain undistorted images in high speed using a small amount of memory capacity, to realize high-quality characteristic information verification. The apparatus, which obtains information needed for user verification from partial images that are successively captured by a sweep-type fingerprint sensor from a fingertip, includes image obtaining means which captures successive partial images of biometric information; characteristic extracting means which obtains, from the captured partial images, characteristics and positions of the characteristics; detecting means which detects relative position information of partial images based on characteristics contained in a region in which the partial images overlap; and correcting means which calculates the amount of distortion of the characteristics based on the detected relative position information and on the positions of the characteristics in each partial image, and which corrects the positions of the characteristics in each individual partial image based on the calculated distortion amount.

摘要： Fingerprint section images of a finger are continuously input by relative movement with respect to a fingerprint sensor, and characteristic shapes such as ridge shapes, edge lines, and portions where changes of tangent directions are large are extracted from the fingerprint section images. Common areas in which character shapes match in two fingerprint section images which are chronologically continuous are searched by correlative calculation of characteristic shapes to detect an amount of movement of images at an overlapping position. Two living body section images which are chronologically continuous are connected to each other on the basis of the amount of movement to generate an entire living body image.

摘要： A cryptographic method and equipment decrypting a cryptographic key by generating an auxiliary code based on a randomly determined numeric key and including a result of encryption into a cryptogram. Upon decryption, the cryptographic key is restored using the numeric key restored according to the entire cryptogram. A cryptographic method and equipment scrambles and encrypts physical characteristic information, and descrambles a result of a decryption, thereby enabling any alteration to a cryptogram to be detected because even a minor alteration thereto changes the result of the decryption. A remote identification system encrypts physical characteristic information using a password as a cryptographic key, and fluctuation of the physical characteristic information, authenticating information represented as a different bit pattern at each identifying processing is generated and sent to a transmission medium.

A fingerprint image of a person to be identified is acquired as a read fingerprint image. Based on the relative position, a registered fingerprint image from among the registered fingerprint images is specified, and a matching degree between the registered fingerprint image specified and the read fingerprint image is calculated. The specifying and the calculating are executed until the matching degree is greater than a predetermined value.
